I see posts on here all the time lamenting PE ownership, made without any understanding of how we got to this point, and how this goes all the way back to asinine decisions pre-bankruptcy in 2013. I’ve decided to play Cengage historian and lay some... — read more

HED marketing next restructure and layoff - timing?
Is anyone able to confirm if Dec or Feb or other? I have been applying for jobs regardless of my role eliminated but interested to hear for my level of urgency.
Cengage Monthly Town Hall holds canceled for Nov, Dec, and thru July 2027
Uh-oh! It's probably the EC figuring out a new time for meetings, but what do any of us learn at these? Rah rah b.s. and lies.
Cengage has become the joke of the industry
Cengage has gone so far down hill in my 15 years with the company. I used to feel like they actually cared about their employees. I am no longer proud to work here. Why are we not paying a livable wage? Why are we expecting so much out of people who... — read more
Layoffs (10-31-25)
I heard engineering is going through more cuts. Some staff were quietly let go this week and their last day is tomorrow. They were replaced with off-site contractors. Anyone hear about this or other cuts in the organization?
What happened to the CIO/CTO?
I liked JC, he obviously got replaced for someone cheaper. Was there some other story there?
Muppet fire drill
Vertical integration of international teams has created chaos, no one knows who is responsible for anything.

Apollo Ki-led Culture, Quality, and Service
Run, fellow Cengagers! Roles outside of Cengage exist, at much better pay, and a clear direction for serving students. Cengage is now an embarrassment in the industry.
Most of Inside Has No Faith in Leadership
Inside person here, and I speak and connect with a few folks off company channels, and most of us have absolutely no faith in Cengage “Leadership” and job security. Fall Rush was absurd. How much business will be lost? Anyone else have thoughts?
Severance packages
When let go, do you automatically receive a severance package? Or only if your position is eliminated? My department is terrified with a new boss coming in and we’re all wondering if we’re let go how that all works.
Questions for those sticking it out at Cengage
First of all, why? Second, how do you get through the day?
Who wants to be the new Chief People Officer?
you too can also continue to remove DEI positions, initiatives and language from the website while promoting the diversity credo! And now that 70%-80% of employees use AI in this Wild West you will be able to fire even more people. not that we'll... — read more

Sales Team is Bleeding Talent
Appears that sales is bleeding heavily based on Linked In posts of former Cengagers moving to better and perhaps more stable opportunities.
Is Infosec selling vaporware?
With the layoffs removing the entire engineering team and the product managers, and most of the content team, is Infosec even making products anymore? What is being sold? Do sales people know that it’s over?

The axe has fallen on Infosec today.
The axe has fallen—today marks a devastating blow to Infosec. It’s frustrating that leadership never fully understood the value of what they acquired, and through corporate missteps, let it unravel. We had so much untapped potential, but that vision... — read more

This was thoroughly enjoyable
