Anyone heard about this one? They say there are going to be layoffs to turbo-optimize specialized growth and maximum pivots for shareholder value , but I can't think of where else they could possibly do our highly specialized work from.
Another RTO in MN?
We are hearing rumors in CRM that there will be another return to office, but for remote employees. Anyone else hear this? Are there specific roles being changed or all remote employees?
“Savings” à la reduction commitments are planned for August.
Will see reductions in my backyard, planned for August. Full scope within MDT unknown.

Same cr-p, different logo! Pretty sure we're having layoffs today! Several have gotten the "Business Update" meeting invite for this morning...
I haven't heard any rumors about cuts lately
That's usually a good sign, but I can't help still being a bit anxious. Is there anything to worry about?
Congrats Geoff!
You did it!!! You managed to find someone in Skip who’s d-mber and even less competent than you are. Bet that feels good
Fire the VPs and replace them with randos in Colombia
Since Medtronic loves saving money I have an idea. Fire the useless Sr VPs and VPs and find replacements in Colombia. I am sure that will work our great. It would save millions upon millions of dollars. Tara should go first.
401k match for FY2026
This is my first year, is this a lot lower than prior years? Even when MIP will pay out at 103% as mentioned in town hall? From the benefits guide for new employees: “Over the last decade, our company match averaged 4.5% for employees who... — read more
Medtronic Corp dev has to be the d-mbest group in the world

MIP
MIP for PH was 70% which is crazy given the BU is a growth driver for Medtronic overall.

I’m learning that work isn’t just about work
I used to think that if I kept my head down and did solid work, that’d be enough to move forward. After a few years here, I’m not so sure. The people getting promoted aren’t always the most capable, but they’re usually the ones who know exactly who... — read more
Employees can make a case to fire Geoff
We need at least 35,000 insider posts on this and can guarantee we can get rid of Geoff if all of you employees rally. Let’s go.
RIF are "rare" and you must be joyful

Friendly reminder our execs dump those shares like hot potatoes
This is all public information. With the exception of Bob Hopkins, our execs effectively get their RSUs or performance rewards, then sell that sh*t as soon as it vests. Forms indicating an (A) are the acquisition of shares, and in this small... — read more
Has anyone heard anything about more layoffs?
I'm trying to stay informed but I haven't seen anything solid.
Anyone consider transferring to India for better job security at MDT?
MDT is basically run out of India these days. It's only a matter of time before everything except sales ends up there. Anyone considered transferring and working for pennies?
I’m completely checked out
I’m doing the work of two people. Commuting in to an office to sit on zoom all day is expensive and depressing. We do more and more hard work while org leaders reap all the benefits. Nothing trickles down. I’ll just hang out doing the minimum... — read more

Will PVH be sold?
All Cardiovascular OUs except PVH have been consolidated with others... Is MDT gearing up to sell the PVH business?
One thing I know for sure - this place is done
They can replace every single person in leadership, but there's no way anyone competent or with an actual vision is ever walking through that door. The culture is too far gone. There's no coming back from this.

Almost gave up. Fingers crossed, everyone, please. I'm so demoralized here that getting out is about saving my sanity now. Hard to believe I was once excited to work here.

Summer hours
Anyone still doing summer hours? Unofficially, of course. Send that last email about 12:17 and then get a head start on the weekend? Of course I would NEVER do that!

people leaving?
Surprising number of individuals leaving recently from all different titles/backgrounds. Bad leadership seems to be the common denominator and not listening to what employees want.
Test test for contractor
I was just offered an unexpected contract position and have to take a dr-g test. I’m freaking out because I ate some THC gummies over the weekend. Does anyone know if THC is included in the test and how HR handles the results???

The reputation has spread too far
I have heard from several people in the industry that Medtronic has become a known quantity. Candidates are turning down offers and recruiters are struggling to fill roles because everyone knows what it is like to work here.
The board is so weak, so, so, so weak.
And hence all the problems. This ain't going to be fixed unless that' fixed.
