Pharma Companies Hire Laid-Off Novo Nordisk Staff

https://medwatch.com/News/Pharma___Biotech/article18956256.ece

Novo Nordisk laid off 5,000 employees in fall 2025. CEO Mike Doustdar initiated these redundancies on September 10, 2025. These layoffs affected the Danish part of the company. Several pharmaceutical firms are now recruiting these former employees. Gubra, Bavarian Nordic, Lundbeck, and Rias are among the active recruiters.

Blatant Recruiting Fraud

Soon Statestreet will be in the news for fraud in recruiting. Postings already have a preferred candidate. Managers do fake interviews involving external
candidates. Even internal
candidates are taken for a ride. Recruiters will be fired for being accessory to all this.

Project: Resume RevampAdvice for job hunting in the AI world.

I learned from a recruiter yesterday that when you submit an application to a job board etc., do not put work history on your resume over / past 20 years. Apparently, the AI screening tools will automatically reject the resume if "they" see anything older than 20 years. Good luck out there!

I will have to re-do my resume!

Remember

People who are:
Conscientious
Educated
Loyal
Ethical
…often suffer more in systems that quietly reward politics.
You didn’t fail the system. The system failed you.
That realization is painful — but also freeing.
You are not behind.
You are not broken.
You are transitioning out of a place that could not hold you with integrity.

Onward and Upward!

Internal hire

For those who have moved jobs internally, did the recruiter reach out to coordinate an interview with the hiring manager or did the hiring manager reach out directly to you? Also how long did it take to hear that you made it to the next round after your initial HR screening. Thanks!

Laid off shortly after joining

I joined T-Mobile late last year and was let go on Tuesday. I'm in my late twenties with a technical degree and passed on another offer because the role seemed stable. It's hard to understand how hiring keeps going when cuts are clearly coming. Staying in touch with recruiters turned out to be the smartest move I made.

Did my recruiter lie about bonuses?

Joined BNY as a senior associate full stack developer in the collateral area in February. My recruiter told me bonuses at that level are around 10%. My VP coworker said she gets 10%.

I've seen some posts saying because I got 10 RSUs in November/December that I won't get a cash bonus. Is that true?

Over a year later, I'm being asked to apply for my old job

I was laid off at the end of last year and have since landed a new job, so I’m in a good place. Still, getting contacted and encouraged to reapply at Nielsen completely threw me off. The role sounds very close to what I used to do, which makes it even more confusing. After being let go, this kind of outreach feels tone-deaf. I’m not going back, but I’d love to understand what’s actually going on behind the scenes when this happens.

A former AT&T worker has been job hunting for 3 years. Recruiters keep telling him to embellish his résumé.

A former AT&T worker has been job hunting for 3 years. Recruiters keep telling him to embellish his résumé.
By Jacob Zinkula - Dec 7, 2025, 4:40 AM ET

Miles Bradley has struggled to find work for three years after losing his AT&T contract role.
He believes some companies are seeking the perfect "Goldilocks" candidate in a competitive job market.
Bradley said he's coped with long-term unemployment by minimizing expenses and staying optimistic.
After more than three years of job hunting, Miles Bradley suspects his best chance of getting hired may be a strategy he refuses to try: lying on his résumé.

Bradley has been searching for work since October 2022, when he was let go from a contract software engineering role at AT&T. He said he's connected with several recruiters during his search, and that some have asked him to tailor his résumé to better align with a job posting — requests he's been happy to accommodate.

However, Bradley said some recruiters went a step further — making significant changes to his résumé without his approval, which he felt didn't accurately reflect his experience and qualifications. These changes appeared to help him land a few interviews, but once he realized which résumé had been used, he declined the opportunities and stopped working with the recruiters.

"I was like, 'wait, this résumé doesn't represent me at all, and I'm not ethically going to do this,'" said Bradley, who's in his late 50s and lives in New York.

Bradley is among the dozens of Americans Business Insider has spoken with over the past year who are struggling to find work. Amid economic uncertainty, the early effects of generative AI adoption, and a trend toward streamlining operations, US businesses are now hiring at one of the slowest rates since 2013. Job openings have fallen sharply since peaking in 2022, when they exceeded 12 million, to about 7.2 million as of this past August, the most recent data available.

In a competitive job market, some job seekers are willing to try just about anything to get hired. While stretching the truth on a résumé or during an interview, for example, might pay off, the strategy also comes with significant risks.

Some companies could be holding out for the perfect candidate
Bradley said he's concerned that a competitive job market encourages résumé embellishment by both recruiters and job seekers — and that it's hard for him to compete with fabricated applications.

If companies are patient enough, he thinks someone with the ideal résumé — embellished or not — will often eventually come along. And when that happens, Bradley said, he can't blame companies for choosing the candidate who appears to be the safe, logical option — even if they might not actually be the best person for the job.

"The industry has become addicted to finding the 'Goldilocks' candidates," he said. "They want to have somebody that exactly fits what they're looking for."

There's evidence that companies have become slower to fill job openings, whether due to economic uncertainty or the desire to find the perfect candidate. In October 2019, about 91% of job postings from companies in the Russell 3000 — a stock market index that tracks the performance of the 3,000 largest US public firms — were filled within six months, according to data shared with Business Insider by Revelio Labs. Of the jobs posted in October 2024, fewer than half were filled within the same six-month timeframe.

While Bradley prefers to be as honest as possible on his résumé, he said he's become comfortable being somewhat flexible with certain details. For example, he said he might present certain skills or experiences as more central to his past work than they actually were. However, he's careful not to include anything that he believes would misrepresent who he is or what he's actually done.

Coping with long-term unemployment
In his final days on the job at AT&T, Bradley said he did his best to "exit gracefully," which included training his replacement and ensuring his main project was in as good a shape as possible.

Once he officially left, he began searching for work, targeting engineering manager- and director-level roles. As his job search has dragged on, he said he has also explored product management and business analyst roles, and even applied for a barista position at Starbucks. Despite submitting hundreds of applications, he's still waiting for an offer.

Job-hunting for three years has taken a toll on Bradley's finances, but he said he's fortunate to have support from his partner and family. In addition to that financial help, Bradley said he has been able to get by because he has become a "hyper minimalist." He said he used to have multiple cars, but now drives a single 15-year-old vehicle.

"It means I don't get anything that I don't need," he said. "I've reduced it down to a couple of backpacks' worth of stuff."

Bradley is among the Americans dealing with the economic consequences of long-term unemployment. While the unemployment rate remains fairly low by historical standards, it has risen to its highest level since 2021, when the economy was still recovering from pandemic-related disruptions. The share of unemployed workers who've been searching for work for 27 weeks or longer rose this year to the highest level since early 2022, and remains near that level as of the most recent data.

Bradley said he often reminds himself that, in the big picture, he's fortunate to have the lifestyle he does.

"I still live at the top percentage of the world's population," he said. "So what do I have to be upset about?"

Going forward, Bradley said he's at peace with the possibility that his job search luck may never change — but he still plans to keep looking for work.

"I love to help companies be successful," he said. "But at the same time, if nobody wants to hire me, I shrug my shoulders and keep going."

lots of new Capital One job openings Fake?

I took one of those Capital One job test. 4 questions in 1 hour and a few minutes. There is no way you can complete it. At the question 3, everything starts scrambling itself.

they collect some confidential data like last 4 of SSN and ID with DOB.
it seems like data harvest scam to me. and they always turn out tons of jobs on the job boards.

Reading a ghosting post made me wonder, why did Fidelity ghost me?

I read a post about new hires getting pushed back, and it sprouted a question from when I was interviewed by Fidelity. I was laid off x amount of years ago, and had an interview with a job at Fidelity that got cancelled shortly after I interviewed. I was just wondering what that could be.

A few months after I was laid off from Fidelity, I was given another interview with the firm. It was in the product area I got laid off from. When I interviewed, I was able to articulate my work at Fidelity prior to my layoff very well. I got a vast majority of the interview questions correct, and showed a very agreeable attitude and ability to jive with the team. I think they appreciated my curiosity for the work the team does, as well as me asking some questions about how our team provides that value. It felt like we really liked each other: the interviewers and manager were smiling and joking with me in the call, too. All while keeping everything professional. The feedback even said I did really well, but was constructive in 1 or 2 places I agreed with.

It looked like a potentially perfect fit. After the interview, I felt as if I KNEW I got the role. However, apparently, there ended up being a new manager who “repurposed the requisition” (I believe the new manager wanted someone more senior level). The recruiter provided reasonable constructive feedback to me, and said “yo let’s call again this week to look at other roles”. I never heard from that recruiter again.

The impact of a layoff seems to depend on the person. For most of us (including me), it’s he-l. It already su-ks when a company pulls a job you just interviewed for. I can’t calculate what exponent the su-kiness factor is multiplied by when the company that laid you off in the first place is the one pulling it after an interview. I asked Fidelity HR about it once. From what Fidelity HR told me, I’m in good standing with the company. Although I realized that maybe Fidelity had something about me or my performance that they aren’t showing to me since I’m out of the company, my layoff status still had nothing performance related. So… idk why I never got a response back.

Have I moved on from it? Well, I’m here talking about it on a public forum, asking what possibly made this happen, so you tell me if I got closure. At least I’m in a place much better for me now, and it’s all love from me with (most of) the people who work there. I have no regrets working at Fidelity and I think being laid off made me a better person, and led me to where I am today. Again, a layoff’s impact on someone is purely individual.

Bringing up the title of this post, without giving too much of my identity, what is the reason behind something like this? I was viewed as an easy pickup who knew the product area already, had natural chemistry with team members, and could have been an immediate positive impact on not only my own work, but helping other people right from day 1. And it gets pulled out of nowhere. Made no sense to me. On top of that, why’d the recruiter ghost me? HR said straight up there’s nothing bad on my record, so I was fumbling around trying to figure out if I offended anybody.

If anyone could give me a comprehensive list of possibilities as to why I was ghosted or why this happened, I would really appreciate it. Thank you, happy holidays!

Was I just headhunted to be my replacement?

I was contacted by a recruiter trying to hire me for a contract position at Optum that would make less than me and sounds a lot like my job now. It’s a position with almost the same name but works with my both my Medicaid care plan and another. I’m always worried about layoffs but should I be super worried?

Laying of 45+

If you are 45+ old then they start finding ways to lay you off. Ageism is playing huge role in job market right now with recruiters asking questions like which year did you finish your education, indirectly gauging your age and not moving forward. Its depressing. Valuing experience over youth.

Which Agencies are used for recruiting IT people?

I have an interest to get back into Ford as an agency resource.
Rather than using Indeed or something similar, I want to reach out to the agencies directly. What are the most popular agencies for IT work? I seem to think Tech Team is no longer. Thanks!

p.s. no need to deter me from making this d-mb move :) I need the $$

Saudi Arabia scales back salary premiums for foreign talent, recruiters say

By Rachna Uppal and Federico Maccioni

Summary

Saudi Arabia shifting focus to sectors such as AI, logistics

Salary premiums for foreign recruits reduced amid cost-cutting drive, increased competition

Saudi private sector salaries now comparable to UAE

ABU DHABI, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Saudi firms are scaling back generous salary premiums that once lured top foreign talent into sectors such as construction and manufacturing as the kingdom reins in spending and reorders economic priorities, four recruiters told Reuters.

Saudi Arabia, the world's top oil exporter, is more than halfway through its economic transformation blueprint, known as Vision 2030, aimed at reducing dependence on hydrocarbon income, creating jobs, and expanding industries such as tourism, real estate, mining and financial services.

They are laying off the recruiters.

They’re laying off the recruiters.

And if you’re not a recruiter like me and you’re not living and breathing on LinkedIn, you’re probably not seeing this.

But the majority of people that I’m seeing recently laid off are the recruiters. And you know what that means? That means they’re not hiring. We’re not hiring.

And they are going to tell you that it’s because this work is being replaced by AI. But we are not there yet, not collectively.

We still need recruiters and they’re being laid off in massive numbers. And I have not seen this since 2008 when things were really bad.

They are not hiring. They are firing recruiters. That is a very bad sign.

Bye.

How many of those "available" job postings are ghost (fake) job?

"Companies post ghost jobs to build large applicant pools for future needs, create an image of growth to boost INVESTOR or employee morale, or maintain visibility and engagement on job boards to game algorithms. Other reasons include budget constraints, a difficulty in filling highly specialized roles, or automatic copying of listings by job boards. "

My last day was last week.

I was put on the Booz Allen Bench at the end of August. It wasn't even two weeks before I received what they call at Booz Allen a lack of work notice, with a layoff date clearly stated.
While on the bench, I applied to five internal jobs, and I was turned down for all of them.
None of the hiring managers or recruiters ever contacted me regarding the jobs. You just receive a rejection form letter type of email that su-ks stating you are not being considered for the job you applied to. I had even stated on my resume I submitted to the five jobs I applied to, that I was on the bench, including stating my layoff date. Before my layoff last week, the five people hired to fill these positions had already started their first day with the company. I read these people's profiles', and they were all hired from outside the company. If you have a layoff notice in hand, you are not given any consideration to fill an internal position at Booz Allen. I'm not sure what people reading this think, but it sure told me heck of a lot about Booz Allen while personally experiencing the drama hiring managers and recruiters pull on people.

Are all attempts to hire qualified staff so sc--wy?

I work in the tech industry and saw a job posted at Pure Storage, California, back in May. It wasn't exactly what I was looking and I was in final interview somewhere else so I handed it off to a friend. He is very experienced, but over 40 white male. They called him for a quick phone interview and said they would set up a second interview. That never happened. Months went by then he got an email wanting an interview as soon as possible. Kind of like "months went by, really?" on their end.

So I did some digging and called up a friend of mine that now works in HR at Pure Storage corporate. She said FTEs didn't seem to be a focus of Pure Storage now and they were looking for temps, contractors, etc.

Question - is that true? Doesn't that mean the company is in bad shape? Any company that would pass on experienced FTEs for leftovers sounds like a company without $$ and about to crash or purposely being hung out to dry. Any insights? Thanks!

Everett Cash team gutted

Hello,

I was recently let go last week and 80% of our team was as well. Everett for years has been the step child to boston but when speaking with my manager at the time of my layoff , the hiring in Florida is going to go full steam ahead in 2026. Majority of the jobs in everett will eventually get replaced with florida hires and by the time we were set to go boston it will be a shell of its former self. I also just like many of you on this website didnt get full severance. I was capped at 12 weeks due to missing my mandatory (54 hours of training) what a lovely place to work. Im thankful I have interviews set up already working with a recruiter but I wish I left sooner.
