Hi everyone,
My pre-employment portal shows completed, and I have a start date coming up. For recent hires, how long did it take to get final confirmation or an “all clear” from recruiting/onboarding?
Hi everyone,

When I started, I was naive and very much myself, thinking I was working with humans. They lie to your face very professionally, do not fall for that. Interact with your coworkers only for work, and never let them claim they helped or guided you when they didn’t.
Good luck and watch your back.
Trust no one from day 1.
Expect no help from others. You will be evaluated by your co workers and deemed an asset or a threat. Beware the friendly ones who seem to help you. They are just digging for intel so they can tell the supervisor. You wil be isolated and left ti fend for yourself at ecxon. Remember it is the squid game hunger games you are playing. One engineer who was hired was deemed a threat. Every other engineer ganged up on this poor guy from Asia. He was piped in the second year and asked to leave. He left out if exxon crying like a baby. I looked like a pack of dogs or hyenas attacking a defenseless animal. I tried to warn the young engineer but he was bedazzled by the false friendliness of the evil engineers.
@OP ExxonMobil is a great company, welcome to a long and rewarding career, but TBH you probably won’t last 5 years
Frankly I’d do 3-5yds and move on. Dont get stuck here the “pension” or the “paycheck” . Maybe find something that is broken here dev outside of Xom , leave and sell it back to them. Now if you have family here or someone is sponsoring you, run with it. Dont fix anything. Promote friends and other inept cronies. I’m serious.
Went through it 4 years ago. Was sent multiple dr-g test and background check requests from India, after I had already completed them. Took about 90 days to walk in the door for day 1. Didn’t have any access to systems for about 2 weeks. Multiple SAP profiles were set up for me and none worked properly for weeks. Didn’t receive first paycheck for about a month - in the mail. No benefit deductions taken out of my check for the first 3 months - then charged back all at once for 3 months. Other than that - all good.
FYI - it only gets worse
Ah yes, your first taste of the dysfunction and confusion. Buckle up, OP!
You need to open a ticket online and someone in India will send you a broken English response… We are ExxonMobil!
In my case, I kept checking the system and, just like yours, all the required steps were already completed. I emailed and called the HR representative assigned to my case but didn’t receive any response. I then reached out to my manager, and after that the case was finally updated. The rest of the process was simply my hiring manager assigning a safety buddy and completing the remaining steps....
@a4 not a contractor, full time hire.
Are you a contractor? Usually contractors take about 6-8 weeks to get hired once they get their official offer.
