For a large corporation exxon is the run worst. I truly hate the place and people at exxon. The toxicity, gossip, underhanded backstabbing, favoritism,neopotism and extreme bureaucracy are impossible to tolerate. Promotions are based on who you are and how much the supers and managers like you. If you are a snitch also helps with promotion as well. Employees who move up on the backs of others. I have never worked at such a vile, disgusting and evil place in my life. I am on the way out as my ranking is dropping but I don't care. I was constantly told I needed to work harder or longer hours so I did sometimes 60 hours per week. It was never enough though. Meanwhile other employees only worked 35 to 40 hours per week. These others were protected individuals. I was given a good rating while the protected got excellent. It is a totally unfair and rigged system that I am sick of. I am leaving to join a smaller company at 2/3 the pay off exxon. The insurance is better and I get the same amount of vacation. The working environment is not toxic and the employees are happy. There is no forced ranking or pds system. I tolerated 8 years at this he-l hole and cannot take one more day at it.

Can we stop these micro layoffs and just do a big one and call it a day? The anxiety of the impending due does not help morale.

Through the rumor mill ….. protocol and AM are next. Their leaders will tell them they are safe and no way WRS can do what they do….. lies. All lies. Whole place is lies.

Happening this week, could be as many as 200 heads, doing it same week as earnings call, will be announced as a restructure charge, likely effective immediately or with extremely short notice once you’re notified, good luck

I saw a post earlier in here that layoffs were going to happen this week, but I was under the impression it was going to be in march. Does anyone have any updates on that?

It looks like a lot of the comments under the post are about NY, but will that extend to other areas of the company?

I know there are people active on this site that have been helpful as we’ve faced these recent layoffs.
I’m curious if they, or anyone, has credible information on the strategy here. It seems this past round had a large focus on remote, performance review, and a bit grading. Is there a magic number of reduction we are aiming for? Or a magic number of remote workforce?

Also says that things will stabilize for the next couple of quarters.

Was laid off last Wednesday with the rest of the team. Was told HR would help with finding employment and it was encouraged to communicate with hiring managers. How can I communicate without slack/internal email? Also, I need remote employment and none of these other jobs offer remote. They simply don’t care about members and their own employees. So much for the culture and leadership. This place will go down. It is just a matter of time!

I am hearing we could see some major cuts tomorrow.

They gave us 90 days to find an internal role. This period is with base pay and benefits. Then 3 months severance package.

Did I miss something? Was this announced? Expected? I feel sick to my stomach because I honestly had no idea this was coming today.

Amazon is closing all its Fresh and Go stores nationwide. This decision will result in 516 layoffs in the Sacramento area. Three local stores in Roseville, Citrus Heights, and Elk Grove are affected. The layoffs are effective starting April 28. Amazon plans to pivot its focus toward Whole Foods Market stores.
