South Shore Elder Services is laying off 131 workers. The Braintree-based nonprofit lost its state elder care provider designation. The Executive Office of Aging and Independence will end its contract on June 30, 2026. The organization reported a $2.3 million net loss in fiscal year 2024. Clients and services are transferring to Old Colony Elder Services in Brockton.
