Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Just when it felt like it couldn't be worse

Just got an email from our glorious IT overlords, telling us that we're going to shift to the managed services model in the next few months.

We can help by being available to ensure knowledge transfer and making sure to update documentation! (And quietly going away when they lay us off in Q4)

@OP remember to write that documentation in a way that confuses everyone, add bits and remove bits that have no relevance, I would have a field day if I was given that task, a parting gift.

I'm "management" in IT, but ever since we decided to go all in on managed services (aka, manufactured stress) I have several CWs reporting to me who have no ability to do their job.

I am stressed as he-l.

OH......trust me it can ALWAYS GET WORSE if you work in IT at 3M. That's the bottomless pit of misery and despair. Don' take my word....ask any one who is not in "management" or dial a fallen (severed, PiP'd out, outright quit) friend.
