Nike SAP May 2025 layoff – status of SEC / EMEA upgrade?
I was part of the RIF in May 2025 and have been watching from the sidelines ever since. I’m still interested in how the SEC program is faring now that so many people have left.
Accenture was meant to pick up most of the workload after the cuts. Have they managed to keep the SEC and EMEA conversion, along with the related upgrades, on the original timeline? Also curious how the other verticals are being supported, especially the legacy systems in the SAP space.
Any anonymous insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

When will EMEA reorg start
When will EMEA reorg start? Aren't they supposed to still go through the Tech reorg?
Info Summary: Oracle Layoffs Summer 2025
This is mostly for non-Oracle people reading this mess. I've summarized last 100 posts here on layoffs.com:
Detailed Summary of Oracle LayoffsBased on the provided text, Oracle is in the process of a major, multi-phase reduction in its workforce. The layoffs are described by employees as part of a strategic shift to cut costs and reinvest in artificial intelligence (AI).
Who is getting laid off and which groups are affected? The layoffs are impacting a broad range of employees across different departments, levels, and regions.
- Geographic Locations: The cuts are confirmed to have impacted the US, specifically in California and Arizona, with 161 layoffs in Seattle alone and 143 in the Bay Area. Layoffs have also been reported in Canada and India, with "hundreds of roles affected."
- Business Units & Teams: The primary focus of the layoffs appears to be the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) division. Specific teams and products mentioned as being affected include:
- Fusion Applications (FA)
- Database (DB)
- NetSuite, with the entire support team in Canada (60 people) and teams in Kitchener being laid off.
- JET, VB, and ADF product teams.
- Legacy applications like EBS, Siebel, and PeopleSoft.
- Industries such as Utilities and Construction.
- The OCI AI team and AI/ML project management roles.
- Employee Profile: The layoffs are not targeting a single demographic. The text notes that cuts are being made to "H1Bs and US citizens," "Employees based in India and in the US," and "Employees at all levels up to SVP." It is also mentioned that "High performers" and those with "Exceeds Expectations" ratings were let go, along with long-time employees with over 20 years of tenure. One post claims a "senior VP" with "25yrs poof" was laid off.
The layoffs are not a single event but a phased process occurring over several months.
- Mid-August: The initial wave began with meetings and notifications in mid-August, with some employees' access being cut off immediately after a short call.
- September: Multiple sources point to a major wave in September, with one post stating, "EMEA will be hit in September. The list of people is in the system already." Another says, "September 2nd is what I heard for another unit in Europe."
- October: Public WARN filings in California and Washington confirm layoffs taking effect around mid-October. A post mentions, "Next round is Oct 13-15 based upon USA WARN filings in WA and CA."
The provided text suggests that more layoffs are to come and offers various reasons for the cuts.
- Total Number of Layoffs: There is no official number, but rumors and estimates range from 8,000 to "10% across entier company," which would be approximately 18,000 people.
- Strategic Direction: The main reason cited is a strategic shift to cut costs and reinvest in AI. The text explicitly states, "The supposed GDP boosts from hiring workers failed to materialize in reality due to the fact that all wages paid are getting saved instead of circulating throughout the economy." The company is reportedly shifting from a "cash cow" model to "reinvest it in AI."
- Managerial Structure: The text suggests that the company is "bloated with middle tier manager's" and that a "Mid mgmt reduction" is necessary.
- Severance and Benefits: Severance packages are reported to be "4 weeks for first year of employment. One more week for each additional year of employment. Maximum is 26 weeks." Employees have concerns about what happens to their unvested Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), with some noting that they "lost the other 3" years of stock. One employee mentions, "Our group lost a few who were close to retiring anyway but also a few who had no plans. The job market is never as good as you would like but it can always be worse."
- Morale and Culture: The layoffs have had a significant negative impact on morale, with employees expressing feelings of shock, disbelief, and survivor's guilt. The text quotes a post that reads, "You are cattle." and another stating, "I'm getting the fu--k out of here ASAP...I've never seen this before."
After wellness week
It will be announced that a new geo will be formed AMER which stands for Americas north and south.

(Tech) Excited for Wellness week but also hardly breathing
I am super excited for Wellness week , it's best time for rest and recovery, but hardly breathing coz Lay-offs around the corner for EMEA Tech
What do you suggest to east the anxiety?
Can the peers share any insights, Positive/Negative will do, just don't be insensitive.
EMEA being on delayed timeline just driving me crazy, I just want this to over af
How can I drain the company of as many resources as possible before I leave?
If you are impacted, what are the things you can/should ask for except for the severance? Outplacement support? Therapy? Keeping equipment? What? I'm sure there are things and resources that are available but you have to know what to ask for.
I'm EMEA based, but surely some of these are global as well. Let me know! When/if I'm impacted I want to make sure I drain every single resource along the way.
What’s the deal with India?
I joined Fiserv in BH earlier this month and confused by all the mentions of India. On many sheets with headcount and capacity planning, they list USA employees and India employees.
Is this company related to India?
Is offshore entirely India or are there other locations in EMEA or Latam?
Just not sure why they would only hire India for offshore if we’re not formally an Indian company by any means
Just confused by all this
Trellix Emea
Again layoffs. Sales people numbers going down. Ireland office kicked out lots of people. Crazy again.
We Good. No Other Big Layoffs
We had SEC in early May, and GT in early June.
Sure we still have EMEA folks on a different schedule, however there's been no other announcements. Especially in enabling functions, which usually follow tech.
Anyone knows when the reorg will take place in GT EMEA?
Rumor has it, it will take place after the summer, somewhere in september. Anyone else heard otherwise? I wonder as now it seems the reorg will also happen in business so not sure if works council will review it as one big reorg or tech will go first.
How is HR logistically going to fire so many people
Going into next week it’s clear that the majority of layoffs will be happening 7th to 11th of July except for EMEA because of labour laws. My big question is how HR is going to manage this logistically? We are talking, at least, a few hundred people but most likely up to the thousands. How do they inform those impacted? If in calls, is it even possible to execute within one week? I’m equally afraid as I am intrigued with the coming week upon us
EMEA layoffs
Any EMEA layoffs? US layoffs are well represented in the media, but I don’t see the same for EMEA despite seeing significant layoff numbers.
Not buying it J2 Sorry
Emea all hands
Takes responsibility for the Gartner issue
However clearly blamed Gartner
You are in the ELT failing to engage gartner and the model in which they operate is crazy. blaming Gartner for a slip in market perception or execution is a cop-out.
The Gartner report is a symptom of the rot at top
How much money is this mess up going to cost....
Cultural Ki-ling CRO.
There’s a lot of anger and frustration with the Matt and Mark across EMEA over how AM, our VP of Sales, has been treated. After hitting all his Q1 & Q2 targets this year and showing years of loyalty, he’s been sidelined by the CRO—sending the wrong message that success at Appian isn’t valued. It’s disheartening to see someone who was appointed by Matt himself now left out in the cold, especially after delivering such strong results. The CRO’s bullying behavior on forecast calls hasn’t helped morale, and it’s a real shame that Matt hasn’t stepped in to support someone who he appointed and delivered results and who’s done so much for this company. Employees now know that loyalty counts for nothing here, and I suspect Matt will come to regret not standing by Americo. On top of that, the CRO has now appointed what looks like two leaders for Northern EMEA—an VP and an AVP—completely undermining the promise of a flatter structure that Matt himself championed. And let’s not forget Matt’s assurances that we’d promote and hire from within the organization—that’s clearly gone out the window. It’s such a shame, and I’m truly disappointed in Matt’s lack of resolve and courage to stand by his word.
[Tech] GT EMEA lay-offs date
Does anyone know when would EMEA tech will be told about the apparent lay-offs?
As EMEA is on different timeline!
Enough is enough…..It’s time to go
It’s time for the lazy incompetent AE’s and the Service Sales Executive in the UK&I who have been hiding behind the promise of sales on large accounts to go.
They have been BANKING on being shielded by the sheer fact that they have ownership of the largest opportunities. No real strategy just sheer luck which they feel warrants them to be deemed the best. This has been enough to protect them. Historically these wins have been not because of them but merely because the clients had not other option but to renew.
We in the UK and EMEA are losing talented resources because of the incompetence of these people.
Time to take action now ELT (RP & MH) before it’s too late.
And yet the deadwood in EMEA sales still remain..
I’m astonished how the some of sales people in EMEA (specifically those incompetent ones in UK&I) are unscathed by the latest round of rifs.
More than likely they are being protected by incompetent geo leads a yet once again our company has lost many many good hardworking talented people through no fault of their own.
Let’s hope the penny finally drops with the leadership (RP and MH) and this is addressed as the next course of action. Get to the root of the problem, hold them accountable and if they can’t provide a degree of confidence and assurance of growth on key accounts then a penalty has to be paid through justified rifs.

The list - EMEA
If you are a manager or were a manager, or director and now you aren't. You are on the list for August.
IT will be hit.
Services will be hit.
Online E-Business will be hit.
Blind Leading The Blind - The recipe for the failure at Teradata
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out where things have gone wrong at Teradata. The company has a history of the leadership rewarding incompetent employees by promoting them into roles that require strategic vision.
This is evident in EMEA where MS has been given the responsibility to lead new business acquisition. This is an individual who may have had success in a technical role which led to a level of success in a specific sector. Being a technical lead for a specific sector to being a New Business leader across all sectors is a greater ask. Knowing the product is completely different to convincing the client you know their business. Leaders need to provide comfort that they can provide strategic sales support to their AE's and it is truly lacking hence the inability to win new logo's.
This is further compounded at New Business AE level in EMEA where individuals such as DR have been re-assigned to helping acquire new business having failed provide growths as an AE on existing accounts. There are many others that have managed to dodge the bullet resulting those who rely on sales being riffed regularly.
This is not just an issue with selling the TD product but also an issuein the consulting services area where those such as SB in EMEA whose responsibility is to ensure expansion on existing accounts has failed year on year. Call them EM's, Client Partners or Service Sales Execs whose key objective should be to immerse yourself in to the account and leverage opportunities to grow the dependency on the TD product by exploring opportunities to expand by reaching out into the wider areas of the business. Unfortunately, those such as SB have only one objective - self preservation by setting false expectation. They expending minimum effort, kick the can of opportunities down the road and not a care in the world about those further down the food chain..the PM's, BA's Technical leads etc.
This is a failure from the top down through, as mentioned, promoting those that have reached their own level of incompetence. Promoting someone that is not capable acts as a short term barrier to protect oneself. The last in first out approach has meant the companies has lost many talented people who potentially could have had the vision to steer the ship away from the Iceberg it will no doubt hit in 18 to 24 months. By not just holding onto the likes of MS, DR and SB in the EMEA but promoting some of them, the company has promoted incompetence which has inevitably drained the company of visionary leadership. This has been repeated globally hence riffs will unfortunately be inevitable resulting in good honest people losing their jobs.
Until the company starts to think about its clients and it's employees (those on the ground that can truly make a impact) than a false fantasy about cloud migrations and AI, it will continue on this path to failure.
Tire-less Bangs
Goodyear Tire’s President in EMEA was being paid $ 5 million a year to have an affair with his executive assistant ( also married) , who in turn mu---red his wife with a kn--e. Cannot make this stuff up. Another spectacular misfit in a high position. Wonder if the President got any severance https://www.wsj.com/business/goodyear-international-chief-leave-chris-delaney-vandeput-e236bcbc
“Leaving to pursue other opportunities” gag
I heard there was an email shared of an exec in EMEA who was leaving to “pursue other opportunities”…… but under the email announcement was a conversation about their settlement agreement having not been signed and when they should share the email on the replacement.
Anyone else see/hear this? You always knew the majority weren’t leaving of their own choice but this would be confirmation on the way this place behaves
(AI) First getting rid of most employees
They let everyone go, especially acquired like hMF, keeping sales teams but no one to patch or support the products. EMEA will now become India only (eventually), US is just Canada.
Justifying the cost being saved by getting unskilled people in India (replacing the existing) to submit canned responses, knowing customers won't be able to immediately migrate to alternative or seek damages on SLA.
Probably going to fail miserably with this all talk with his own talkshow CEO. Talking about AI, creating a snowy mascot to hop on stage but not actually giving his employees the tools.
With all the diversity promoted, where is your Indian AI mascot?
At least we all got some AI experience as we were filling in those lead to nowhere Career Week forms, another true example to this company being all for show, fake new procedures and hard on it's hard working employees for nothing.
"Better together" never made sense, not when you are forced to commute 2 hours to an empty office, only to conference with 3 other regions who need to do the same.
Good luck to the few left to train their replacements.
