Nobody on my team, but that means nothing. We were already running bare bones. Good luck to everyone. I feel like cr-p every time we go through this.

Dan's Comments on Downsizing (VZ-Q3-2025-earnings_call)
“Aggressively sunset or exit legacy businesses”
Timestamp: 0:19:06 to 0:20:17
“While we narrow our focus to invest in key growth areas, we will also aggressively sunset or exit legacy businesses where we don't see a clear path to profitable market leadership. We have a large opportunity to unleash meaningful margin improvement by doing so, and we will talk about this in more detail in January.”
“Divest and exit legacy businesses”
Timestamp: 0:28:31 to 0:29:35
“We’re going to do a hard look at portfolio rationalization and divest and exit legacy businesses where we don’t see a clear path to profitability.”
“Simpler, leaner, scrappier business” and “aggressively reducing our entire cost base”
Timestamp: 0:17:56 to 0:19:06
“We will be a simpler, leaner, and scrappier business. This work is overdue and will be multi-year and an ongoing way of life for us… We will fund these investments by aggressively reducing our entire cost base.”
“Portfolio optimization”
Timestamp: 0:43:32 to 0:44:19
“We have parts of our business that are costing us billions of dollars of margin, and I think we can think much more clearly about how do we invest in growth areas and divest or exit those that are not that for us. We'll spend more time on that in January…”
“Everything is on the table for us”
Tony Skiadas CFO – Timestamp: 0:46:32 to 0:47:12
“We're looking at everything, and everything is on the table for us. It also entails being very efficient with our capital spend.”

More layoffs?
I thought more layoffs were coming in November?
Truist going to continue mass layoffs
It’s not gonna stop. Tough working for a shrinking poor long term company.
Congo in Lewisville laid off 155
Congo Brands, the parent company of Prime Hydration (co-founded by Logan Paul) and Alani Nu, is laying off 155 employees in North Texas by the end of 2025. The job cuts follow a $1.65 billion acquisition of Alani Nu by Celsius Holdings, finalized in April 2025.
Most of the affected workers are remote or field-based employees in Texas, including over 40 regional sales representatives and 26 account or marketing sales staff. The layoffs begin December 31 and come with no union representation or transfer (“bumping”) rights.
Alani Nu, known for its influencer marketing and fitness-focused energy drinks, has grown rapidly but now faces restructuring amid industry consolidation. The layoffs reflect broader corporate downsizing trends across the U.S. beverage sector in 2025, particularly in sales and marketing roles.
Downsizing real estate
I'm curious if anyone has any thoughts on the latest RTO development, at least in the U.S. where an announcement was made this week of selling a couple of the buildings in Greenville, but re-stating the RTO of 4 days per week. This seems odd to me, in that I don't see how you can force more people into significantly less space? In addition, I understand there will be no dedicated desks, making this objective even more complicated. Anyone have any insight?
remember
does anyone remember the epayments cto who was completely unhinged and not exactly competent. he was truly the beginning of the end
Over 1 million layoffs in a year
Layoffs in the United States exceeded 1 million in a single year during several periods, notably during the following years leading to a recession, except for 2020 due to Covid. US companies see the storm coming next year and are preparing for it by tightening the belt.
- 2001: The dot-com bubble burst and a subsequent recession led to significant layoffs, with over 1 million jobs lost.
- 2008: The financial crisis resulted in widespread layoffs as the economy entered a deep recession. Job losses exceeded 1 million during this year.
- 2020: The COVID-19 pandemic triggered mass layoffs, with more than 20 million jobs lost in the early months.
- 2025: October marked the 1 million mark and the year is not even over.
Barclays GTIS Layoffs
Barclays GTIS layoffs occurred on 11/5 in Whippany,NJ. I'm not entirely sure how many Collegues were impacted but a Network team engaged working on the same project was severely downsized.
It seems like the Barclays grim reaper trims staff every year despite the financial state of the Bank which reported very strong 3Q25 earnings this week.
As always wish those effected much success in quickly landing another professional position to their liking.
I’m afraid this is just the beginning
The only thing left for them to do is cut some more. There’s no turning this sh-tshow of a company toward the future.
Layoff risk
Who is most at risk of being laid off? Is it based on salary typically or what is the criteria?
Market Presidents given the boot
MPs were the first to go this week. Maybe this means no more markets??
400 people in Romania
On 3 Nov approx 400 people across multiple functions and lines of business were laid off
Down 78k employees, time to get lean??
This is going to be similar to what Elon did to Twitter when he bought it.
"To the long-suffering men and women in the trenches of the Verizon workforce, this may sound like a new commander's call for another big push days after the last fruitless effort. Under Hans Vestberg, Schulman's predecessor, Verizon's headcount shrank by 44,900 employees between 2018 and 2024, about 31% of the earlier total. Since 2015, the number has plummeted by 78,100. All this carnage has still not apparently produced the lean machine that Schulman, who has been the top independent director on Verizon's board since 2018, wants to see. "

Layoffs
What number will UP Layoff in 2025 compared to these companies down below who are leading the pack of wolves in 2025. UP has been quietly doing layoffs and buyouts in 2025, so the total number could be around 1000 to 2000. I believe it started with Los Angeles, Utah Roper, Pocatello and the most recent in San Antonio. I’m sure I missed some other locations.

CVE gifts assets to Strathcona to Buy their vote
Even the market is calling CVE on their desperation to acquire MEG. Can this company do anything right? They overpay and undersell. Do they actively try to lose $$$. No wonder their stock price can’t creep higher than $25. Forever the bottom feeder in the E&P space.
Layoff News for 2025/2026
Anyone heard any news of planned layoffs for the rest of this year or next year?

Wish they hadn't spun it off
I'm Former 3M/Solv employee.
3M has been doing so well - Look at their Q3 results! They are growing faster than SOLV and expanding margins.
SOLV just constantly seems to downsize and make excuses.
It is hard to manage these complex portfolios - that is the job right now with SOLV margin issues. Dental and Medical are basically industrial companies.
Be interesting to see if this new hire from Baxter can make any progress. Problem is probably similar to Tyco, maybe Baxter.
Things can't get any worse.
Sounds like downsizing
Was notified I will no longer be employed in 2026.
Philly office downsizing.
Found out Wednesday that office on Market Street which BNY has been in since it's Mellon days and even is still armed for the company is downsizing from 2 floors to one. I guess we will only stay open as long as the new lease lasts.
Yay /s
Kick a ss in Your Role and Opportunities Will Come
How many of us believe this? Let me know your thoughts. I think the pie is shrinking and we are going through a structural change. Since the pie is shrinking, there will be many people who will not get a slice of the pie by the sheer fact that there is not enough slices. Once can 'kick a ss' all day, if there is nothing to be given you'll get nother (or it'll be taken away from you as we are witnessing right now. Just my two very modest cents.
Explanations?
Hey guys, can someone explain what's going on, even from rumors:
- Why the downsize
- Rough number on the downsize (5% now, 5% in Q4?)
- This appears to be worldwide
- What does India have to do with any of this?
I'm grateful to still have my role, but I'm terrible at being "in the know" of the bigger picture my company faces. For the sake of discussion, I like my role but people keep saying to steer clear of working at TI. What are reasons for this train of thought?
Thank y'all!
This is beyond disgraceful
I’ve been through plenty of layoffs, but this one is on another level. It’s straight butchery, cuts made on cost alone, no regard for people or loyalty. The way it’s been handled is cold, inconsiderate, and completely silent from the top. Worst part is, it’s clearly not done yet. I feel especially for the veterans who were discarded like broken equipment. This company has reached a whole new low.
Wow. This place is really being burned to the ground
Not sure what the plan is. Maybe it's being dressed up to be sold, because the going concern ability of this place is being destroyed
Poole Office Closure
Does anyone have the date when the office closure will be announced and when it is expected to actually close?
McKinsey and Company is the one that runs the firm now
Demoralized by your peers feeling forced into accepting VSPs? Shocked by the ISPs? Me, too.
Now the additional layer as been revealed - the quiet demotions. Make no mistake, this is quiet firing. They want to make people miserable so they leave on their own accord and they don't have to pay severance. It also helps with their PR so they don't have to make it look like they laid more people off. This way, they can bring in younger, cheaper talent (and offshore and outsource more and more) and stay out of the headlines. This is "Consultant 101."
It's not just BCG, though. In case you hadn't noticed, they hired a bunch of partners from McKinsey & Company to run the show - David Chubak, Ryan Littlemore, Hasan Malik - all from McKinsey. I'm sure there's more I'm missing.
Then you have Nancy Killefer, Luis Ubinas, Byron Auguste - all on the Advisory Board and from McKinsey.
Don't know who McKinsey and Company is? Go look them up. They're the sc-m that both helped big pharma market opi--ds while simultaneously advising the government on how to combat the opi--d epidemic - using the same team of people. They are predators. They have no conscience. This is who is running the firm now.
I am so disappointed in the partner group as a whole. They should never have allowed this to happen. I hope they are ashamed.
Van Nuys call center downsize happening before end of 3rd quarter?
Van Nuys Office worker reduction happening or is it just a rumor? Commutable employees were relocated at the end of July and now all the other employees are sitting waiting to hear what happens next and be able to move on with their lives. Anyone have news on when this might happen?
You will be fired
If you’re not very actively looking you’re being a fool. They are going to find every conceivable way to push you out. Questioning your scope, doubting the need for headcount, pretending to not understand functions that have existed for years and are crucial - all to hit a stock price. Opps exists solely to destroy as many lives as possible. HR is just legal cover so they can pretend there’s a “peocess.” There will be devastating layoffs in September, followed by nonsense where they choose 15% people they don’t think are cool enough (because IBM is basically a mean girl club in a jr high school) to not get bonuses hoping for attrition,, followed by more debanding - hoping for attrition, followed by a five day workweek hoping for attrition, followed by another round of devastating layoffs - which probably just barely gets us to next summer. “Operations people” at IBM are subhuman filth who only care about hurting as many of you as possible. Protect yourself. Protect your children. Get out. That has to be your full time job. Just get out.
Trimming The Fat
HyVee new corporate mission statement is called Trimming The Fat. Jeremy G is cutting any program that is not turning a profit. Jeremy is going to get lean in the next 5 years. They are talking about closing 50 stores that haven’t made profit in 30 years. They are looking at cutting labor. Looking at cutting wages for director and mangers. The next five years will either bring HyVee back from Randy E failures or HyVee will file for bankruptcy. Time will tell.
Is Sept 2 is end of firing spree
I saw couple of posts on September 2.
ELT is so lucky lol
Nothing happens to them. Terrible results? Raise our compensation! ELT needs a whole new takeover but alas, that will never happen
ELT - congrats on making money hand over fist while downsizing the company only to get worse results!
