Do you think Hal is downsizing the business to sell?

Who is big enough to be a buyer besides George Soros? GE? Didn’t GE already get out from under their Baker Hughes purchase? This question is like asking who is going to buy XOM or CVR?

If anything HAL sells off divisions but again I don’t think their are any buyers
I was wondering if maybe that's why the company wide HSE audit was for. To start cleaning up the place, I was told that we were supposed to get a third party inventory audit as well.
Who is going to buy that's the question. I'm sure they would sell to the chinese but the govt won't allow it, that's' about all that would take them and even then. Small companies already outperform halliburton in the field, they have no manufacturing that's anything special. Just look at baker, it's obvious they're moving away from the field services, there's just no money there anymore. Technology has proliferated now enough that there's no "secret" anymore.
I think halliburton is attempting to return to being strictly a field service company, if they could they would cut out all of manufacturing and indeed that's what they're doing in the US. I will tell you this much, if they really thought they had a future here in the manufacturing side, the psl's that exist wouldn't be as neglected as they are.
Baker is, so why not!
