Why do anything?
We’re eliminating a lot of people. The round of layoffs like always are getting swept under the rug. We’re just expected to keep our heads down and focus on generating more revenue.
Heavy AI push this week. Is something happening soon?
A lot of managers in STS pushing all team members irrespective of their roles to showcase AI Agents and other AI stuff they have created and are using. A lot of boot-camps happening as well. Are they planning to cut roles soon?

Is it true that parts of the business are about to sold off?
FMS, that’s Mono pumps is apparently about to be sold one of its larger competitors!
If it’s true then it’s great that we will soon be managed more professionally but I’m sure it will lead to cuts as they have a lot of duplication of roles!
Brush up on your German guys, it’s about to get interesting
Even more cuts?
Is something being planned for later this month?

Worst ive seen it in the past 16 years
I'm lost. BD is lost. Can someone tell me what's really going on here?!
This is the worst I've seen it since I started 16 years ago. There is no one steering the ship anymore. If there's still a captain, no one's listening to them. The norm is hurry up and wait. The culture is lies, fear, anxiety, confusion, frustration, and baffling. One good thing I recently heard is that a bunch of higher ups were let go, so someone up top is keen on trimming some of the upper fat. Maybe we will be lucky enough to get more DEI hires to replace them!
100 full time positions cut
How in the he-l are we supposed to make money for these people when they keep hacking and slashing? Not only did we not even get enough hours to run the store, they just cut 2/5 of our full time staff? And they think hiring team leads will make up for that?
Return To Office Abuse Fix!
How can there be this many slackers still taking advantage of wfh? I hope the next series of cuts is purely for those that are not following policy. If management is serious about RTO, they should use their data to cleanly broom the folks that are not doing their part at this point and send a message. These cuts are long overdue. All of you real estate agents, photographers, off the books carpenters, and slackers in general could go and Ford would not miss a beat.
Everybody knows the abusers in their area - I personally like the analyst in our area that lives in a multi-million dollar house on the lake and comes into the office 2 days a week - Hey, she has a successful photography business to run!

What the he-l is the purpose of a golf ambassador? How much did this sponsorship cost and how many employees didn’t get raises or had their VC cut short because of this?
Mississippi Health Department Cuts Preventive Health Staff
The Mississippi Department of Health recently terminated approximately 30 employees. These layoffs included about 20 program leaders in preventive health and health disparities. Directors for chronic disease, cancer, and tobacco control programs were among those affected. Federal funding reductions and a desire for improved outcomes prompted the staff cuts. The agency expects to save around $20 million through these changes and contract terminations.

ESPN Prepares for New Round of Layoffs

WaPo Layoffs Impact Arts Reporting
The Washington Post recently laid off over 30 percent of its newsroom staff. These cuts included journalists covering arts and entertainment. This continues a decade-long trend of declining arts coverage at the paper. Editors previously cut sections based on profitability and reader metrics. Critics now worry about the future of arts journalism and cultural discourse.

Gentex Layoffs
3 team members and 1 upper management got layoff last week in Gentex. The reason was unclear but some say its because of it might have something to do with Gentex losing 42% of its stock value in 2 years. With the Iran, US and Israel war & tariffs, the future seems pretty uncertain as the stock keeps dipping.
Nevada Districts Cut Jobs Amid Severe Budget Deficits
Nevada school districts are facing severe budget deficits despite a recent funding increase. Increased costs, flat state funding, and declining student enrollment contribute to the problem. Policy changes in the new funding formula also create financial challenges. Districts like Washoe and Douglas County are reducing positions and considering school closures. State officials are urged to increase education revenue to prevent further insolvencies.

Oracle Manner in which layoffs were done
I concern is not the Layoffs but the manner in which they were done. The percentage was not uniform across teams. Some teams had only 15% while some teams ( Not On-Prem)) had close to 45%. No one knows how people were selected. We have seen some good performers being shown the door. Many new hires shown the door. Entire team let go. This is just madness. People had quit stable well paying jobs and joined Oracle and they were let go before they had the opportunity to prove their worth. It’s not that the Big O is in losses that they had to resort to such cuts. There would be no motivation left among the existing employees to perform well when they see such things happen.
Many of us OGs are sitting on hundreds of hours of PTO because of engineering deadlines and previous cuts.
Now you want to bleed us further with more cuts? That is our reward for literally working evenings and weekends for months?

Unfortunately the news article is paywalled. But how exactly do they plan to double profits? More cutbacks?? Is this the part where private equity starts doing what they do best, cut everything down to nothing to maximize profits?? Here is the link to the article but sorry it's paywalled.

Are the severance packages any different under ML?
I read when FB was in charge he changed the severance package from 2 week to one week per service year. Is that still the case under ML with the recent layoffs? If it went back to 2 weeks, still capped at 26 weeks?
Will there be more layoffs ?
Any more layoffs this year?
Which teams will be impacted?
