More Iron Galaxy Studios layoffs
No number given, but it's in addition to 66 people affected in February.
Any news on cuts?
Or let me put it another way, any credible news on more cuts?
Vendors only, or is that just the start?
It never stops at one group. Anyone know if more cuts are coming for the rest of us?
Mortal Kombat - Your Soul is Mine
With Mortal Kombat II hitting movie theaters and video game platforms this summer, employees here swear RV has been studying for a cameo. Not as a hero—those roles require budgets—but as the impeccably calm, soul-stealing iconic super-villain who whispers “Your soul is mine!” every time another “efficiency initiative” rolls out and heads must roll.
In this corporate remake, positive operating leverage is his finishing move.
Shareholders cheer as expenses drop, margins rise, and the stock price performs a “flawless victory. “
Meanwhile, employees brace for the monthly and quarterly “global realignments,” which arrive with the predictability of a franchise sequel.
Associates joke that RV has mastered a rare power: absorbing the power of others, all while maintaining the GLP1 expression of someone who already knows the next round’s outcome.
In this Mortal Kombat remake, no one throws a punch. DM's spreadsheets do all the fighting.
More cuts next week 4-20
Shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone but this seems to be a deeper one.
OI onshore cuts today
Not poppycock or rumor. Asked this morning for multiple names from my 10 person onshore team. Of course they said we cant take anyone from our 35 person offshore team. OI is not meeting IOI, doesn't matter that my products are. This Jenga tower is coming down after this, already cut to the core and now this. No offense to my offshore teammates, they develop well, but dont know the business. But come on, they could absorb this offshore and be fine. Going to be losing multiple 20 plus year people that know this industry/space for ppl that have 2 years tops.
Serious question?
Given all the cuts, do we really need two chief network officers (wireless and wireline)?
Seems like they created a job for someone who was complaining. Just saying.
What are your thoughts ?
Another round, same stupidity
Skilled and experienced people gutted. Again. The ones who actually knew what they were doing. Left with the rest of us expected to pick up the pieces.
How big is this round?
I know people keep mentioning so called "surgical" layoffs that are constantly happening, but this seems larger than that. Am I wrong?
Why are we cutting costs after a record quarter?
This is a rhetorical question. What's your theory...
L3Harris layoffs
I just started at a company in Northern Virginia this week. My officemate was let go today. When I asked about stability of the Cmpany he said they recently went through a restructure and some leadership was let go; he expects another round of cuts among lower‑level managers. He also mentioned springtime layoffs have been a recurring pattern over the past two years, so it’s unclear how widespread this will be.
How many heads so far?
Just curious if anyone knows how many people have already been let go this year, and what they're trying to reduce down to. If you take all hGP and hWP combined at the start it was around 27k people, right?
May is going to be a bloodbath for a lot of Maverick folks
Layoffs happened last Monday. Not sure what the count was or what orgs were hit exactly but they happened. I know one person was in FED tech support, though. And a few other in I think SRO, whatever that org is. I'm sure ISG/CSG was hit like usual as well lol.
With the rollout of Maverick VERY quickly approaching, I feel confident that a lot of the "main" people involved with the project will be let go after "go live." I hope not but, I do feel their time is limited.
The original deadline and "due date/go live" date was early February and that was missed by 20 miles. JC sent out a heated email stating that it will not be pushed back again. He was PI---D.
I still don't think it will be remotely ready for the May release but, not my problem. As per usual, it will be forced upon the workforce half broken, or barely working and with little to no training; and the poor unfortunate souls who have to use these tools will be blamed for not knowing how to use them.
With an NDA project so close to the go-live date, it'd be ignorant and stupid to layoff anyone heavily involved but, once it rolls out into production? The job is "done" and those people are no longer "needed."
The "lead" of the entire project is a mo--n to put it nicely and well... NC better start putting a resume together. I would be anyways, had I been the main, or one of the main dawgs in this NDA.
I've only been at Dell for like 8 years but Maverick is easily one of the biggest CF projects of them all.
Layoff Watch
I've heard about layoffs in GTO, HR, and USB. Where else are people getting chopped this month? Mother Met needs her sweet sweet stock buybacks.
Ford needs to layoff 10% of the workforce
Laying of 10% of the workforce will boost the company stock. Ford has too much waste in their workforce.
Second wave of layoffs
I’ve heard that another wave is expected in the next two quarters. Seems it’s being done in batches???
Strong financials
Overall, not a bad quarter at all! So it was definitely justified that you got a raise that didn’t even keep pace with inflation and the execs got like 15-20% extra. Keep working hard digging your own grave folks. That’s the only way this works.
Join me in seed ball making.
Just received an email from Virtual Development Network BRG - we can all join a virtual event to make wildflower seed ba--s.
While I am all about supporting Mother Earth, thinking about the amount of money USB is wasting with these types of events all while nickel and diming us on RTO and time at screen.
Make all of these extras make sense when you are degrading remote peoples pay grades, laying off American jobs to send them overseas, and all the countless ways they are showing their appreciation.
It wouldn’t surprise me if suddenly all of these useless USB encouraged workshops and training events are going to have record attendance like never seen before…… if that’s how they want to play, I’ll play.
Layoffs - next round soon?
Weak Q4… growing GCC… more layoffs are soon? … quarterly has been the trend …
The Oracle Playbook- Is XOM Repeating the Cycle?
There’s an interesting parallel between what happened at Oracle and what seems to be unfolding at XOM. Oracle initially tried to cut costs by aggressively offshoring technical work, which created short‑term savings but also eroded internal capability. Later, when the AI wave hit, they had to rebuild expertise they had previously hollowed out.
XOM looks like it’s following a similar pattern: first pushing a low‑cost labor strategy, then suddenly pivoting toward AI without having the internal technical depth to support it. The result is the same structural tension.
Cut happening across the UK
The insurance business is undergoing a major overhaul
The projects with London Markets have been frozen / cancelled
Another relatively new logo is about to have a significant portion of their staff culled because apparently a year in they’re not making money…. Bullsh-t comes to mind
Just wait until they announce results - it’s
Not looking good.
I just wish I already knew whether I'm on the list
The anticipation can be worse than hearing you're cut.
US Folks Get Ready
I heard Billing, Collections and CS was hit this morning. Anyone know of any other depts that got hit? Everyone in the US is being hit.
Layoffs? (4/14)
Anyone else hearing how big an impact today's layoff is/was? I know of at least 2 managers in the call center that were given 30 day notice today and were told there were a lot of others as well.
Layoff meetings
When do the layoff meeting requests start coming in? I'm hoping today is the day!
Do the direct managers have a say in which exact employee to cut or are they just handed a list of names and have to just execute, no choices ?
Do the direct managers have a say in which exact employee to cut or are they just handed a list of names and have to just execute without making any choices. How does it go about?
So the major cuts happen on 4/30, and this week is nothing much?
Is that certain? I'd ki-l for two weeks without this stress.
Voluntary separation
Rumor is, T-Mobile is going to start asking people to volunteer to separate and get the full severance.
PSP
I heard those who got laid off are the lucky ones, while PSP situation will be so dire the rest of us will actually have to pay to be here. Anyone hearing this too?
T stock in freefall
Down 12% in two weeks.
But yeah… everything is fine. Just need a few more badge swipes and maybe another “collaboration zone” and we should be good.
Market must’ve missed the memo about culture being built in the office.
Layoffs comming near you shortly
Just got off the phone with my AD and I was told April 23rd there will be a 10% RIF across all departments within Verizon. They are going after highest paid workers now NOT based on your PAD or time served in the company. My AD wanted me to help develop a plan to put into play with the reduced staff starting May 24th.
Get out of here!
The worse is yet to come. Ruckus leadership team is ruthless when it comes to cost cutting. We’re all an expense on their balance sheets.
Who is taking the buy-out
Wondering how many are planning to cut ties this time around or just waiting for the inevitable ax to fall with layoffs
Which VPs were just laid off ?
Any idea if the VPs were laid off if they will cut into their staff?
4/14 layoffs
Ideas??? Who is on the chopping block??
