LinkedIn Announces Workforce Cuts Amidst Reorganization

Microsoft-owned LinkedIn will lay off approximately 5% of its global workforce. This reduction affects around 875 employees out of 17,500 staff. The company is reorganizing teams to focus on core business growth areas. A spokesperson confirmed these organizational changes are part of business planning. LinkedIn's revenue increased by 12% in the last quarter.

Customers will see this as confirmation

I am about to be let go from a group that was supporting a mature, well-known product that should have been practically free money for Cisco. Instead, it was a source of constant agony for customers who suffered numerous outages, resulting in angry phone calls. What do you think people like this think when they read the news? Time to pick another vendor.

I feel bad for my fellow employees today, but I feel just as bad for customers who have unwisely entered into contracts for this bottom-feeding outsource chop-shop.

Is it really this bad?

The lack of major layoffs is for paramount employees. WB will be decimated. There are few jobs here that is not completely redundant at paramount. WB should have bought paramount not the other way around. To the victor belong the spoils.

Now that the finish line is getting closer, do we think this is true?

2026 Layoffs Continued

I was laid off after more than 15 years at Wells. I survived the previous rounds, but I was finally caught up. Our CEO made it no secret this would continue through 2026. Each round I survived I had a little hope. Make no mistake it doesn't matter if you are a top performer or not. I have seen top talent just be let go over and over. It will continue.

I knew this might be a possibility, so I have been looking for jobs for months. It's been scary with this economy and job market. No bites. Had resume reviewed, joined job boards, joined talent agency/groups. The only thing that has come up is short term contracts but no real bites. Ageism is real and it's scary as he-l. All I can do is keep trying, take some time to up-skill and get some additional feathers in my resume cap, but I would be lying if I didn't say this job market is brutal.

Make no mistake. Wells doesn't care about the loyalty and commitment you have shown to them no matter how many years of service. Your performance isn't a guarantee either. Over the years I have jumped when Wells said jump. Traveled more than I can remember, worked nights, worked weekends, putting in 50-hour work weeks. Been a repeated top performer. They expect loyalty from you but don't expect loyalty in return. Don't be fooled. None if it matters in the end. You are just a number to Wells.

LayOffs 100% confirmed

Layoffs are 100% confirmed: Anyone at this site who spends every day waiting for a meeting about being let go, anyone who no longer wants to work at Cisco, anyone who only complains about management despite the company reaching record-high stock prices, or anyone who has simply lost motivation is free to leave Cisco.

Please do not waste company resources or other people’s time. If you are ready to move on, do so now.

There are thousands of talented people with fire in their eyes who have been struggling for a long time to find an opportunity. Give them your place, and go in peace.

Leadership is incapable of feeling shame

Fidelity's leaders should be ashamed but that would require them to be able to feel shame. Ned must be rolling around in his grave, rest in peace. I didn't agree with everything he did but he never showed the lack of respect for employees that we see today.

So much this! Reposting from @a6+1krerh6ct for being 100% correct.
