As a single person still working but looking to retire in the next year or two. Can I please get some feedback on what you’re paying for Cobra for 1 person
Thank you

Offices in Optum circle
Was in the office today. Oh how life has changed. The offices used to be inspirational and loved way people connected. Now the atmosphere is very negative and all the benefits of cafe are gone.. anyone feel the same way?
CWA retiree health benefits question 🙋♂️
Im 2 years away from the magic number 75=years of service + age min 50. Is it worth it to stay at VZ if you have a good opportunity offer with another company?
Will these benefits even be around in the future? Ill be 51 in two years theres no way i can stay here much longer. I heard the pension maxes out at 30 years service.
Reasons for leaving HPE
For anyone heading out of HPE or already gone, what pushed you to leave? Was it low pay, shaky job security, benefits, or something else? There are a lot of different frustrations building up, it'd be nice to know which one is in the lead.
Curious about health insurance costs
For anyone willing to share, what do you all pay for your coverage? I'm curious about the range for different situations like people with employer plans, retirees, or folks on private insurance. It would be really helpful to hear some real numbers to understand what's typical.
Remember to use the money in your flexible spending account for eligible health care expenses
You don’t use to forfeit this money. I believe you can still use the FSA while on COBRA
When layoffs happen, Californians need real support that actually shows up
For a lot of workers, unemployment benefits are the safety net that keeps them going after a layoff. But moments like this reveal how complicated the system can be. People trying to find their next job shouldn’t be stressing over forms, yet thousands of Californians on unemployment have to report all earnings every single month.

Rightway Medtronic's New Prescription Benefit
Anyone else having problems accessing the new prescription benefit, Rightway? Account has been deactivated. I called Rightway and was told their not sure why it's either an error, employee not eligible, or termination. This benefit just started 1/1/26
VRP vs Layoff Severance?
So, if you are offered VRP and decline it, and then get laid off anyway, is the only difference COBRA coverage? Do you still get 2 weeks per year of service? Are there any other differences or perqs to VRP?
TIA!
Cobra and life insurance
For those laid off in October, does anyone know when Target will send instructions for cobra and life insurance? Wouldn’t anll benefits expire this weekend?
EAP benefits ending early! (2/4/26)
So, after logging into EAP (Spring Health), a big splash screen said my EAP would end 2/4/26. Well, excuse me, but the FAQ say EAP ends at the end of the benefit period, which for me/mine is 7/31/26. After calling them and confirming the date THEY say, I am currently "battling" with EAP and providing said screen shots, severance period, etc. Has anyone else encountered this? On another note, I did receive the Cobra package yesterday, and it does appear the coverage ended on 12/31, but if you look on the back of the 1st page, you should find YOUR end date. I saw an earlier post with some ppl freaking out. (I need some counseling DA---T!! :-) )
Catalyst/JCP 2026 Paid time off
Rumor has it that with the merger, Catalyst will be reevaluating how they determine Mto. I can say for myself if they pull a stunt like they did two years ago (which they reversed after the uproar), I am leaving. After more than twenty years, the only reason I am still there is because of my six weeks paid time off.
Mo--ns Ended Our Healthcare Coverage 12/31/25
According to a letter I got today from Vz, my health coverage official end date was 12/31/25. Directed me to enroll in COBRA or sign up for marketplace insurance (Obamacare). Obviously this was a major sc--w up by corp but it will wreck any claims for care received after 1/1/26.
These clowns can’t even execute a RIF correctly.
If leaving Citi before Mar 2026, will Citi still do the 401k match?
What the title says - I've managed to find a new job and will be leaving next month. Will I still receive my 2025 401k match?
COBRA during severance period, you must sign up for the $0 coverage, its not automatic.
Apparently we still need to "sign up" for the Verizon paid COBRA insurance during our severance period.
Medical, Dental, and Vision for you and dependents are $0.
There are additional charges for things like extra life insurance, which you can change (decline).
We have until 3/5/26 to sign up for the Verizon paid COBRA insurance during our severance period, BUT you must still sign up, its not automatic (which was not made very clear by HR...another fail from Verizon in regards to this RIF)
I did mine today, says the Total Annual Cost $0.00.
I printed the sheet in case there is any discrepancy and to cover my a-s!
Dear Benefits team what a communication miss!
Sending out an email on Dec 22nd that requires action by Dec 31st that impacts your compensation is a communication miss that should result in your immediate termination.
Cobra insurance mistakenly cancelled and very long holds with Verizon Benefits Center
I was rif'd on Dec 19 and Verizon mistakenly cancelled my insurance as of Jan 1. Anyone else have problems with their insurance coverage? They had to submit paper work to reinstate my insurance. I was on hold to get through to Verizon Benefits Center for almost an hour.
2026 benefits book
so the 2026 benefits book is now available and as expected, nothing has changed in terms of severance benefits, still 8 weeks up to 4 years of service then 2 weeks per year of service until it maxed out at 52 weeks for 26+ years.
I’m not quitting
They can throw any attrition combo at me, but I’m not leaving on my own. Let them sweat trying to get rid of me, or anyone else for that matter, and when it’s over, I’ll take my severance and all benefits. I haven’t busted my back here for years to walk away empty-handed. If the company hasn’t appreciated us, we can damn well appreciate ourselves.
401k match
When will company match for 2025 be posted in Empower?
What severance is given after layoffs?
Is it a flat amount, or does it depend on years of service and grade level?
Each year is worse than the previous one
I don’t even want to think about what 2026 is going to be like, considering that for the past five years, if not longer, every single year has been worse in some respect than the one before it. More layoffs, fewer benefits, and a culture that keeps deteriorating. Let’s just say I’m not looking forward to finding out what the next year brings.
Field leadership needs to be eliminated
Regionals should be let go too. What CVS doesn't need is another useless middle management position crabbing about metrics. That's exactly what's wrong with CVS. DL's are bad, regional directors are worse. Stores do not need constant micromanaging. What stores need is support in the form of hours and staffing, and better wages/benefits. Field leadership adds ZERO value to stores when all they do is crab at you because you didn't meet some arbitrary metric of the month. Meanwhile there's only 2 people working and it's crazy busy. Store visits by higher-ups are nothing but dog and pony shows because they don't want to see how things really are. And THAT'S why field leaders need to go.
Man it was sad reading all the Farewell emails today
I have to say I was quite affected by all of the farewell emails that came in today.
I feel bad for the long-term employees who now have to look for a new job and will certainly face ageism.
I feel bad for the impacted who don't live in a major job market. That will be an uphill battle to find a comparable corporate job.
But I feel especially bad for a couple of peers that were with VZ for less than a year. One was a contractor and was very excited to land a VZ full-time offer. His kid had major medical issues, so he was finally happy to have good benefits.
The other was a guy recently divorced supporting 3 kids. He was also a contractor that went perm. Both are in their late 50s so will have a tough time finding new full-time work.
I know this is the downside of choosing corporate life, but it still really stings. And I would be naïve to think that I'll be safe much longer.
Verizon Pension
My Verizon net credit service is not recognized by Verizon benefits/pension, because I worked in three different parts of the company. I am literally days short of qualifying for my full unreduced pension benefit, even with them not recognizing all my years of service. This is just mind blowing to me having spent the majority of my adult life working for this company. I never would have imagined!
Recommendations for wealth management since leaving
I know this is not the best place to get good feedback, however I am finding it difficult to get "honest" input anywhere. For those that have left, or are still with the company , any recommendations on a company (The Retirement Group, Quotient Wealth, Fidelity, or others) that can help to navigate and manage pension, 401K, etc? I am not savvy in this area and would like some help until I am confident to do it on my own or keep it longer term with support. I think a fiduciary is important. Please just helpful comments and maybe that is asking too much on this site. Thank you.
Laughable
Y'all. Optum/UHG/UHC whatever you want to
call the entity is a giant joke. Utilize your benefits and get a new job lined up. Do not sacrifice a relationship with your spouse
or children or friends for some weirdos across the country or world behind a computer. I promise the grass is greener.
Walgreens Benefit Fund
Ok, let me get this straight, Walgreens wants employees to donate to a fund to help under paid coworkers? Am I understanding this correctly? That can't be what it truly is. No company would expect its employees to make up the pay gap for them not paying their employees a living wage? Am I missing something or is Walgreens really that out of touch???
I’m a survivor
I detest my job. I work 60-hour weeks without any benefits.
Perhaps if I work harder, they’ll take care of me?
Did Verizon remove trade in credits from laid off employee accounts?
I just checked my bill and noticed that all of my trade in credits have been removed from my account. I’m a laid off employee and was curious if this was normal?
HyVee financial troubles
HyVee must be in some financial trouble if they are cutting programs to save money for the company. HyVee is a billion dollar company and they are try to save cost by getting rid of employees benefits. Tell me you are not in financial trouble without tell me you are in financial trouble.
COBRA and ending ACA subsidies
Cobra is expensive but with the subsidies not getting extended, anyone thinking about the optimal decision for health coverage?
How do you like them apples?
1) Feed employees an ultra-high sugar diet and provide them with excess sugar whenever possible. 2) Induce diabetes and force them to take GLP-1 and other obesity medications. 3) Inform employees that insurance rates have increased and their benefits are reduced because they’re using GLPs. 4) Rinse and repeat.
Fix your Hiring Process
Message to HR from Philippine . We applied the last week of November, and then we were given a start date of December 4th. My colleagues were able to start, while I was put on hold because they said they'd already met their maximum cap for the account that YOU endorsed me for, and I PASSED everything and SUBMITTED all the requirements right away. Then suddenly, you'll email me saying I'll be a buffer for the next wave with a start date of December 12th, even though I'll have to take a new final interview. I passed again, and now I'm just waiting for you to send the NEO info.
And now that everything's set, including my requirements, you're going to email me again saying I'll be a buffer again for the next start date, which is December 19th. And then another new final interview. You guys are useless. Your offer is already lowball, and then you keep pushing back the start date. I just want to continue because, somehow, your benefits are good compared to other companies. You should fix it. Your recruitment and HR employees take about 2 days to reply to a single email. If you don't like your job, don't waste the time of those who are applying because your lazy and stupid
