Tech and critical mindset right?

When I started working in computer science, I was always told: The job is to always understand what you're doing, that's a mindset you need to keep all time. Like, never run a piece of code or script if you don't understand it Don't trust what... — read more

RTO during Notice Period

I am getting an offer in a new company and due to the HR processes, it looks like I will join mid-april. I'm planning on going in person until I give notice period. Can I stop going in person for the 2 weeks of notice?

DELL Power!!!!

Woo-Hoo!!! The stock today is 119 and it keeps rising. DELL is returning to the glorious years of the end of the 90s ! DELL will dominate again the supply chain of the HW vendors! Star Power!!

Office Reminders

Just some basic reminders: DO NOT cut your nails at the office. Shaking your Stanley filled with ice and water constantly will not make your water taste better. Parking spot lines are there for a reason, not a suggestion. Please place your... — read more

Tell Dell should be interesting

MD wanted 60% of the workforce to be remote by 2019. Many workers were already in that capacity before Covid hit. When everyone went remote, productivity was at an all-time high. The company talked about it all the time. Many articles in the press... — read more

FRS

JC sounds like a hick. BS repeating previous years speeches. They talk about market share but have no direction. "Sell more storage" inspiring. "Increase margin" wow, such insight

The man behind the curtain

Why did everyone believe that RTO would be permanent? Dell has always had it’s red flags over the years. It’s no different than being with a partner that displays the sane behavior and you know you should cut ties but you don’t. And now you have to... — read more

I’m just sayin’

My guess is that when the desired amount of attrition is achieved, the senior execs will look the other way when individual managers ease up on the RTO enforcement... — read more

Ai is about to take over your job

It’s so funny reading the posts of people saying this company is a Cush job. It’s a bully environment that is very toxic. They ruined the one good thing about hopkinton.

Question about Cloud based AI

Apologies - not a layoff/RTO post but rather a company AI policy question. Anyone ( especially developers who do CRUD work using public libraries, writing scripts and NOT those on teams working on proprietary Dell software ) face actions like... — read more

Any update for RTO Ireland?

There aren't enough desks in some offices in Ireland to fully accommodate RTO - does anyone know how this is going to work? We're gone past the 'mid-feb' comms that were promised.

5 day RTO

now that cat is out of the bag let's address daily hours. we all know 6+ per day is expected. If that hasnt been communicated yet it eventually will be. You can count on it. One thing is for sure. Dell is going to get more su-ky when you thought... — read more

I Feel Like We Are Following The Xerox Model

Guys, does it seem like we are going down the same river as Xerox. MD is just su-king the company financially dry and we are getting peanuts. Did anyone see his new car?

Time to change some things

Instead of bending over backward to accommodate everyone at all hours, I’ve decided to embrace the “flying under the radar” phase. My new plan? Do the bare minimum, stay off everyone’s radar, and when the time comes, collect my paycheck. It’s not my... — read more

Monday

Is there any chance tomorrow will just be a normal day? No layoffs, no announcements, no surprises to send my anxiety through the roof?

One Dell Pro Premium Max please!

I am completely Bamboozled by the very confusing naming scheme and the complete chaos it has brought upon the numerous manual excel files that the team maintains.

Office work even on Holiday weeks?

With the new RTO changes coming, I got a question for the pre covid employees: How was the office hours flexibility during thanksgiving and christmas week? Did your manager allow you to not have to be in office during these two holidays weeks? Trying... — read more

IBP percentage

Anyone happen to hear about what the percentage is this year? I’d think with all the cost cutting we’d have something decent but I’m always afraid to ask.

Too many are willing to just roll over

Whether it’s layoffs, RTO, benefit cuts, or any of the other terrible decisions management has pushed in recent years, far too many people are willing to just roll over and accept it. Sure, people grumble. They vent on sites like this, complain to... — read more
