Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Tell Dell

We know whatever you score changes nothing and will be spun to be positive.

Don't participate!

It's not mandatory, don't do it.

This speaks louder than any pointless score you give Dell.

I think our org’s management is fantastic. I feel exactly the opposite about the ELT though. I generally answer accordingly.

Someone here suggested negative feedback for the ELT would hurt my manager, and I’m not sure why that would be the case…can I get more explanation? My leadership REALLY seems to want everyone to fill it out, even when they know the scores are going to be brutal, like last year.

I am not under any illusion that the ELT gives a $hit what we think, but I’m not going to lie. And if my leadership wants the feedback, then it’s going to be split. I just would like to better understand the impact, if there truly is one, on our manager/s. Thanks.

Not, not as anonymous as people think. Over the years, I've had HR contact me because Dell disagreed with things I said. Considering me a "hater" against social trends.

Since those times, I've stop writing anything and I just check off the multiple choices if given. They not care to read anything I say unless it is something that makes them feel richer, or something to get me added to future lay off or firing lists.

So say something that will pi-s off Dell, HR will indeed contact you, or your manager. They know who fills out the surveys and know who to reach out to.

0% anonymous!

The anonymity of Tell Dell is complex.

If you are a manager in Ireland and you have team members in the US or in India then you can see a breakdown of results per geo. If you have one person in India and you get rubbish results from India then it's not difficult to pin it down.

It's one item on my giant mountain of work to do that I have zero percent motivation to do. Sitting out permanently until leadership gets their sh-t together.

All of these various threads about Tell Dell...."We should boycott.....I'm gonna give em he-l, that'll show 'em!"

THEY DO NOT CARE. Not one bit... don't view the survey as some way to make a point, they won't even look at it.

probably enough managers out there that have been laid off by now that can truthfully tell you whether they knew or not. Where are you laid of managers....spill the beans

Are these Tell Dell surveys "really" anonymous? I heard a rumor they will track those with negative replies/constructive criticism and consider them for future layoff via IP somehow. Could be nothing but never know.

My manager is great. But let's not kid anyone, they know exactly who wrote what just by the way someone leaves comments reflecting their personality. Above him though things go south quick. And for the leadership of the company overall is horrendous.

The return to office is a g d joke. 1 size does NOT fit all!

Do the managers know who does or doesn't complete TellDell?

I assume they don't, some equally assume they do, but does anyone really KNOW?

Am always forced my my manager. Always questioned every year why I not done it yet before the deadline. And every years, I've given them nothing but zeros. So I'm, forced just to give 0's.

The scores don't matter. My manager had a negative score last year and nothing changed. So, I think it would be better just to ignore it. Why waste your time taking it if they aren't going to take it seriously.

I haven't participated in years. You either give honest feedback about the company and completely sc--w your boss (who believe it or not, for some of us is not the problem), or you fake it with 5s.

I just don't do it and every year laugh at the "and 1 person didn't do it" when they go over it.

I always gave them 5's across the board. "Everything is just fantastic!" They don't deserve my honest feedback, heck with them.

That’s another of their tricks. If it’s not a very high or very low score they discard it when averaging. So better to give low than medium. Medium is no different than if you had not taken the survey.

It's like everything else at dell. they have to force participation.

i remember one director was pinging us weekly about volunteering for some of dells community outreach programs. He was using his position to try to strong arm subordinates for volunteer services because the turn out was so poor.

Total ISG dooshbag.

The simple fact the managers make a big deal about 100% participation proves how loud it would be for everyone to just not play along.

They can spin a negative, but they can't spin non-participation.

yet all management push for 100% participation...that is all we'll hear about from now until it comes out.
