Upper management isn't going to use terms like "Apocalypse Day" to describe their heartless strategies, out of fear of lawsuits. This sanitization of their speech happened years ago. Do they talk this way behind close doors? Maybe. But the OP isn't going to have that sort of contact. It sure as he-l won't show up in a company email.

The edict on remotes, with one day notice or else PIP status, wreaks of manure. Will they target remotes at some point? Sure. With a 24-hour or else PIP? Not likely.

My take? Yeah, there will probably be layoffs tomorrow. Layoffs are just the weather of the day now. But I'm highly doubtful it's going to be the blood bath being painted by the OP.

Yup dell desperately wants to keep what they are doing out of the mainstream news, so they're going to let go of the 35k ppl a little bit at a time over the next 2-3 years.

The grain of truth for OP is the AI piece. All companies are actively working on Agentic AI. The description of Agentic AI is still SCI-FI in my mind but at my company, we've had training on getting ready for Agentic AI.

There is one guy in here that is very well informed when he leaks us info, probably a guy that works for HR, but this does look like this is the guy. Either way I have not heard anything about layoffs (yet).

We know life goes on after Dell but it's hard for some to see this with the stakes so high.
