They do this in ISG support too. A manager decides you need to be gone for whatever reason. Next thing you know you're on a PIP with goals even the top 1% can't hit.

Good news, guys. According to Zeno's paradox, even if Dell were to lay off 50% of its headcount each and every month into infinity, it will never actually be able to reach zero employees. Hopefully this is some comfort to everyone worried for their jobs.

Not so much about getting let go, but if you are in sales, and not tracking to quota, then April is the PiP month for you. Then the hammer drops in July and your dismissed based upon lack of performance which means no package, except for 2 weeks pay. That's how they reduce the staff in Sales. PiP them out of the company.
