Working every contact, and applying for anything where my skills might fit. I'm becoming desperate. One single interview, and it didn't work out. It's as bad out there as everyone says. Watching Open Text's nosedive is freaking me out. We knew things were bad, and layoffs became the norm, but this feels like the death throes.
Surprised it took so long to occur. That last crew did not perform at all. Did a lot of bad stuff to lower ranks - intentional or not. Stock price at $1.38 today.
May is going to be brutal. Especially for long tenured employees. George has hitched the wagon to the AI bubble which is in the process of deflating. If only we had invested in innovation instead of claiming NFS is a foundational technology for AI. Management only cares about the stock price.
How do you reduce costs to raise your stock price - layoffs! Strap in.
Investors are pushing the stock lower knowing all Microsoft products are garbage. It also does not help maters with the face of Microsoft embarrassing news. No Nobel Peace Prize in the future.
Verizon beat earnings and revenue expectations and showed strong net subscriber additions, its best in years.
The company provided strong guidance for 2026, forecasting increased EPS and cash flow growth.
Honestly unbelievable. Losing money on PYPL through ESPP feels like a joke.
Our stock price is falling relative to ExxonMobil. Whatever you are doing is not working, Wael.
As I expected. After the recent "pumped and jacked" earnings the stock "popped" but I knew like a balloon in a hole in it it would fritter away. Value trap. Stay away.
Up 16% since the earnings dropped. Silly haters.
Can these clowns improve the stock price?
Stock free falling now, markets aren't happy with the CEO or divesture
Heading to ten bucks a share

Quantum is coming, just keep waiting. . .

It might seem natural to pit the capabilities of quantum computers—often touted as the next big technology—against today’s supercomputers. But scientists have a different, more collaborative vision for the future.
Rather than outright replacing classical machines, quantum systems will likely be built on top of existing architecture to enable more powerful computations.
This perspective was captured in new research from International Business Machines, which showed how classical graphics processing units, or GPUs, from leading chip makers could work alongside quantum processors to execute problems faster.
“It’s important for the world to see that quantum computers aren’t just these things that [will] replace your computers,” Jerry Chow, IBM’s chief technology officer of quantum-centric supercomputing, said in an interview with Barron’s. “They’re really part of the entire computing infrastructure.”
Two papers co-authored by IBM researchers detailing the results were posted to Cornell University’s arXiv, a research-sharing platform for papers that have yet to be peer-reviewed.
The first paper showed how GPUs from Advanced Micro Devices, contained within the Frontier supercomputer at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, could be combined with IBM’s Heron processor to model complex chemical systems and provide a 100-time speedup over central processing units, or CPUs.
“It’s a notoriously difficult problem for classical computers,” Chow explained. “But we know now, there’s a part of these chemistry problems which are best handled on the quantum computer.”
Follow-up work with Riken, a Japanese research institute, was showcased in the second paper. The study showed how the same chemical systems could be modeled on IBM quantum computers for an additional 20% increase in performance when using a new algorithmic approach on Nvidia chips.
“Overall, they’re all supporting the same narrative, that the future of computing is quantum-centric,” Chow said. As he sees it, it’s the next logical step in a continuous evolution of technology.
Classical GPUs have already proven their prowess at one type of math. The chips perform calculations by breaking large problems into thousands of simpler tasks that are processed simultaneously, through a method called parallel processing.
Meanwhile, quantum processors harness the properties of quantum mechanics, which makes them best suited for complex modeling tasks. This explains why most quantum research consists of some kind of modeling problem—and why quantum is expected to have an outsize impact in the areas of dr-g discovery and materials science.
Classical processors are “the technology behind everything that we see today with language models and training and inference and so forth,” according to Chow.
It’s impossible to rule out a distant future “where everything is all based off the same kind of technology,” he added. “But at least from what we’ve seen with how supercomputing has evolved in the last 10 to 15 years, it’s all about composable pieces.”
Jay Gambetta, who oversees IBM’s research effort, shared a similar view in an earlier interview with Barron’s. “We’re imagining a heterogeneous accelerating framework that connects quantum and classical compute,” Gambetta explained during a tour of IBM’s Thomas J. Watson Research Center in October.
Much of IBM’s past research has incorporated hybrids of quantum and classical computing. In September, computers running on IBM’s Heron processor worked alongside bit-based machines to perform a bond trading problem.
One month earlier, IBM and AMD unveiled a formal collaboration to develop quantum-centric supercomputers. The partners indicated they were exploring ways for AMD chips to control errors on IBM’s quantum processors, which could advance IBM’s efforts to develop fault-tolerant quantum computers by the end of the decade.
Crucially, the latest results demonstrate that real-world applications of quantum computers are just a step away.
“We have a number of partners who already have clusters of supercomputers that they know how to access,” Chow said. “To them, it’s like, ‘Now I have the keys to a brand-new car, let me see what I can do with it and how I can work it in with what I’ve been doing.’”
IBM shares climbed 6.8% on Thursday, bolstered by strong quarterly earnings. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite fell 1.9%. So far this year, IBM has gained 6.1%, outstripping a 0.7% gain for the index.
CFO Michael Baron Maguire sold 13,000 shares worth $651,690 on 1/26.
They know how to squeeze the last bit of blood out of the employees. The company is making $650million cash profit but they plead poverty and won't pay the employees. Execs take millions for themselves and on top they are using the profits cash buying a third of the company by share buybacks. Drums package suddenly goes from $6.7 million to $10million effectively back door. They squeeze every $ they can from employees. Its plundering every which way they can.
Rest assured. It's a big if tho
Just saying.

The tech company posted a fourth-quarter profit of $5.60 billion, up from $2.92 billion a year earlier

International Business Machines recorded higher revenue in the fiscal fourth quarter, as customers move to implement AI in more areas of their businesses.
IBM’s generative AI book of business now stands at more than $12.5 billion, up $3 billion from the third quarter. Chief Financial Officer Jim Kavanaugh said he anticipates that the AI book of business will continue to increase at a similar pace, with growth continuing through the next handful of years.
“What you’re seeing is the early indications of moving from what I’ll call industry experimentation to we are now beginning to the cycle of scaling,” Kavanaugh said.
The Armonk, N.Y., tech company on Wednesday posted a profit of $5.60 billion, or $5.88 a share, in the quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with $2.92 billion, or $3.09 a share, a year earlier.
Stripping out certain one-time items, adjusted per-share earnings were $4.52, ahead of the $4.31 anticipated by analysts, according to FactSet.
Revenue rose 12% to $19.69 billion. Analysts surveyed by FactSet forecast revenue of $19.21 billion. Sales were driven by software and infrastructure, which rose 14% and 21%, respectively.
Within IBM’s software business, data sales rose 22%, while automation was up 18% and hybrid cloud increased 10%. In infrastructure, IBM Z fueled most of the growth, with sales climbing 67%.
Consulting revenues were $5.3 billion, which was a hair below analysts’ expectations. Kavanaugh said businesses are feeling more confident about spending—which typically leads to stronger consulting results—as macroeconomic uncertainty has subsided compared with this time last year.
“While we’re still operating in a dynamic environment, we see pretty good green shoots about growth factors,” Kavanaugh said.
In 2026, IBM expects full-year revenue growth of more than 5%. That would be a slow-down from 2025, but higher than the previous two years. Wall Street was projecting 4.6% in annual sales growth.
IBM in December agreed to pay $31 a share for the data-infrastructure Confluent, which provides technology that helps manage streams of data using AI models. The bo-m in AI usage across industries has boosted the need for its capabilities.
The synergies with Confluent are expected to increase IBM’s total addressable market by more than $100 billion, adding real-time data streaming to the business for the first time, Kavanaugh said.
“It is the glue that brings together IBM’s portfolio,” Kavanaugh said of Confluent.
FYI if u have Verizon stock in your 401k and choose to select cash instead of dividend reinvestment it gets treated as regular income when the dividend pays.
Just like this coming Monday.
Even though it’s coming from the 401k.
No penalty and depending how much stock you have can add up.

Why are you guys surprised? All along I projected the stock to be in the 50s.
What is next? Fiserv is no longer a fintech company, it is a company with a bunch of accountants and top-heavy with VPs and SVPs. All its IP 🧐 assets are contractors. No one would invest in an accounting firm. Clover? It’s only 8% of the market and going down.
Infinite? Simply an agent, facilitating, accounting cover-up to beautify quarterly earnings.
Sad but this company is dead without its full time IP committed to Fiserv. Mike can’t do anything, Frank left him with long term contracts with third parties and many Frank’s kool-aid guys still around. Stock to $40 .
It will take Mike about another 2 years to know IP is a must to the survival of this company.
I was laid off with the Dec 19 crew. I got an RSU payout on Jan 20, another one on Jan 27, and then the last one on Jan 29 (yesterday). The first two were paid out to my Fidelity Individual account in cash. The last one was paid in VZ stock though. Anyone know why the last one was in stock?
I am betting on $35.00/share when RTO kicks in for all.
See you on the commute
Share price at $110 and falling. What's going on behind the scenes? If it drops below $100 do you think they will punt SH and make layoffs?
Devon needs additional reserves and production that it would never achieve through the drill bit. In fact, it advertised 20-30 year drilling runway is closer to 6 years. Hence the hook up with Coterra.
How will this merger play out?
Layoff and which side is the most affected?
Will this merger improve a low morale and stagnant HQ workplace?

The health insurance business is a mess, and no health-insurance company is a bigger mess than UnitedHealth Group
UNH
The bad news started on Monday, when the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, or CMS, proposed that the net price increase for Medical Advantage insurance premiums should be 0.09% in 2027, well below the 5% many had expected. That would be a big hit to future.
This is what peoples health has been reduced to. A bunch of Wall Street brokers who circle in anticipation of how much money they can extract from federal and state programs, unsuspecting employers etc.
I believe that the SAP stock will only rebound when Julia White returns as CMO.
This shake up may require more re-trends to return to SAP in order to right the ship.
Our sales #’s have been great - why don't the analysts get it?
I mean, our results figures were really not that bad. What gives?
So today a new form was published via the SEC, that explains that every shareholder would get 1 x Warrant pr. 2 x shares they hold on the 9th of Feb.
One warrant allows the holder to purchase 1 x Xerox share for $8 within the next two years.
This part I understand, meaning they are only valuable in this form should our stock increase with 400% over the next 2 years.
The last part is where I’m not sure:
The warrants may be exercised for cash at any time prior to expiration.
What does that mean?
Humana stock is almost to covid levels. UHC rebounding today but Humana continues to fall off of Med. Adv. rates.
Is it expected for the stock price to continue to drop as more and more Medicaid membership is lost due to deportations and enhanced scrutiny for fraud?
It's going to get worse in 2026 with UHC leading the way. Expect more outsourcing and RIFs
The company announced a 20% dividend increase and a new $6 billion stock buyback program.
Someone ran a piece a few days ago about Chinese automaker BYD raising $5 billion to expand all over the place. New factories, new dealerships, very aggressive moves to increase global market share.
