Activist investor Jana Partners has reportedly purchased a stake in payments company Fiserv.

Now, Jana is campaigning for changes to boost Fiserv’s underperforming stock. Their track record in the past:

• Whole Foods Market (2017): Jana took ~9% stake, pushed for improvements; Amazon acquired it later that year (major profit for Jana).

You seen him in that sweater with the zipper that goes down to the chest, trying to protray him as this warm figure like Mr. Rogers. What years did Mr. Rogers air? Mr. Rogers aired from 1968 until 2001. So anyone who was a child during this time is meant to accept the CEO as, a similar figure. But that is where it’s just an illusion. The same tactics used in union busting, but instead applied to all. All a lie. The stock is overvalued, and morale is low. I think lay offs have a high probability of happening.

Amon talking about instant gratification

in the AHM he talked about the stock price and talked about how QC won't ever get you instant gratification. What the f is he talking about? It's been 5 years and the stock hasn't moved. Sure, it's oscillated up and down, but if we don't have ESPP or RSUs to sell it's useless.

The stock is down 6.5% over the past six months.

Under the employee stock purchase program, shares are acquired at the end of each six-month period. At that time, a charge appears.

Is that charge simply the cost of the shares purchased, or does it also include taxes on any profit?

My understanding is that the shares are purchased at the lowest price during the previous six months. If the stock price is higher at the time of purchase, the difference may be treated as employment income and taxed accordingly.

If the stock price drops shortly after purchase, does that mean you effectively paid tax on income that you never actually realized?

Stock price rise is crazy!

Cisco’s P/E ratio is 33+ - higher than Google, Amazon, Meta and Netflix. That’s crazy- Wall Street is valuing Cisco higher than all these other companies!

If I have one regret about not being in Cisco it’s this: stock was dead for many years and now that I’m no longer in, has taken off like a rocket! Just my luck I guess, don’t think anything changed significantly but the external perceptions sure have.
