Working every contact, and applying for anything where my skills might fit. I'm becoming desperate. One single interview, and it didn't work out. It's as bad out there as everyone says. Watching Open Text's nosedive is freaking me out. We knew things were bad, and layoffs became the norm, but this feels like the death throes.

High tech is like the music industry with a lot of one hit wonders, where someone in their 20s gets a number one hit and they keep trying to get a second one for 30 years and never get there. It’s great when you are in the spotlight, but don’t expect that to last.
The Camelot years for technology sales/companies are dead.
The best places to be at, OTs won't get hired. The reputation is that bad although most likely no their fault.
Do what I did.....change industries and thrive. I made almost as much in 2025, as I did in my best year at HPE/MF/OT.
Tech is dead!
@ex I love malicious compliance.
Godspeed.
@dj use Aviator AI!
@ OP
Spend a few bucks on getting your resume professional rewritten. It will help it sail past the AI blocking filters. Your response rate will increase quite a bit.
Why does it fell like the end for OT, it's business as usual for me
Yeah it’s cooked
There’s no escaping for most people and they know it
@OP The job market will come back, so just ride the current storm out.
Typically, many will leave tech for pastures new as they need to put food on the table. Experience and capability will leave the sector for ever.
Hiring companies have the pick of the crop and can low ball salaries. For now. Soon enough, they will be crying out for talent
