Did HR(CWS) provide a template for LI #OpentoWork

I've seen ten posts today and they all ended the same way with even the same emojis used a bullet points. Odd they all have the exact same format.

Example below.

About me & what I’m looking for:
💼 I’m looking for Account Representative, Account Manager, Account Executive, Account Specialist, and Key Account Manager roles.
🌎 I’m open to roles in Glenview, Chicago and the surrounding area.
⭐ I’ve previously worked at CDW as an Account Manager and as an AWS Business Development Manager

Wish I left in 2021

Now if I get let I can’t say I EOId the economy is in tatters. Oil and gas job market is dead and what do I have to show for it. Some reinvent shares. I’ve got 25 years more to still work

Laid Off June 2026

I survived all of the previous cuts and was hoping to hang on long enough for the company to become profitable again. No such luck, I guess.

Like others have mentioned, it was a great place to work with great team members. And the hardest part of this is having a recruiter reach out to me with a job position that seemed like I would be a good fit for only to learn that it was the one at OSTK that I was just let go from. (The recruiter didn't notice this when they looked at my profile.)

And now I don't know what to think. Was I letting my team members down without knowing about it. If so, I would have hoped that they would have said so before it came to this instead of always giving me good reviews.

Anyway, it was hard enough when I thought it was more downsizing, but it's even harder thinking that it may have been for some other reason that I will always have to guess about.

Found a new job as soon as I stopped worrying about pay

I'm aware that not everybody has that luxury, but if you can afford to drop 10 to 20 percent, there are plenty of options. My new job is interesting and it provides me with a chance to diversify in my field. I've been gone for a few months and I'm satisfied. If you want to leave, you have options. Just widen your search a bit.

Life After Verizon???

Of those who were RIFed in December 2025, how many have landed another position? Full-time, part-time or contract? How long did it take you? Cold application or networking?

Or, are you still career hunting? Frustrations and challenges? ATS, AI, etc.?

Or, if you are eligible to retire, did you?

Make sure you're prepared

I'm always confused when people say they were caught off guard by layoffs. How? We know layoffs are always a possibility and every single person should act accordingly all the time. Save your money, keep your skills updated, update your resume, network, and keep an eye out on who's currently hiring. Make your own lives easier, folks.

I will be quiet quitting for the rest of my time here

Until I find a new job, most of my energy will be spent on that search. FIS doesn't care if you're a hard worker, it'll show you the door either way. So no point in trying. I'll give my minimum and save my energy for my next company, which will hopefully be better in treating its best employees.

Supreme Court Allows Trump to Strip TPS

Has anyone been keeping up with this? Many will lose jobs/careers again with this latest decision handed down last week. Opportunities will become available for natural born citizens again as well. There are ups and downs with this one:

Fake interviews

I interviewed for a job and didn’t get it. Fine. But now it seems like I was just one of the minority candidates they had to interview so they could give the guy they wanted his new role. How do I know? I was talking to a guy who said he was “starting his new job soon” and later I found out it was the one they had me interview for. I don’t care who gets the job but don’t waste my time. Didn’t they already get sued for fake interviews?

BTC hiring trends

I don’t know how it is in other organizations, but EMTech is aggressively hiring in BTC. Either move to a safer department or keep your options open and look elsewhere. I know strategy advisors are always on confidential projects, so they can’t talk about them, but you can still get useful signals from them.

Exit Date July 13 for those notified after May 13 earnings - many choices internal role or outside

Comments if your exit date is set as your departure (taking the package), Or choosing to roll. There are few internal jobs posting but not sure if real or posted just for fake pretend. I applied for every job I could, over 100 internal jobs. Four interviews, but no offer.

Tough job market currently, hope few land.

Hiring Front Shows Good News

Seeking new employment can feel like a full-time job. Yet, positive developments exist in the hiring sector. Companies are reportedly rehiring employees. These rehires occur after prior AI-related layoffs. Applicants can learn how to distinguish themselves.

How many of us are actively looking for opportunities outside of Shell?

I work in IT in US and have started actively looking. I have a first interview lined up next week. I am treating it as more of a warm up interview to get a feel for the market. I haven't interviewed in 7 or so years.

Kind of tough that so many companies hire but are also doing layoffs at the same time.

Everyone is looking for a new job

But I'm yet to hear that anybody found it. That's how bad it is out there. And that's the main reason why not just Verizon, but most of the companies can currently get away with treating their employees like cr-p. There's literally nowhere else to go for the majority of us.

Are people avoiding Oracle these days?

We've been trying to fill a role for months, and we've gotten almost no qualified applicants. It almost feels like qualified people have heard the stories, know what it's like here, and are staying away as a result. We desperately need help, but I don't think we'll get it anytime soon.

Career advice for someone nearing 50

I'm approaching 50 and would like to work another 15 years before retiring.

Given the current environment, I'm concerned that if I were laid off in my 50s, finding a comparable role could take much longer than it would today.

Would you recommend starting a job search now while I'm still employed, or staying put and only looking if a layoff actually happens?

Where are all the people going?

All I keep reading is people boasting how they left this place. Well, I want to leave Honeyhell as well but I can't find anybody who's hiring, or at least anybody who's hiring at comparable pay. So please, be kind and share with the rest of us, who's currently hiring? Where are you all going?

I'm not taking the offer for one simple reason

I've been applying and interviewing for months. I get callbacks and interviews, but then all I get is silence. I get ghosted again and again. No rejection email, nothing. That's how bad it is out there right now. That's bad as it is while I'm employed, I'm not voluntarily entering that game without a job.

It's happening

Major layoffs along with a shakeup at the top. I guess we were all expecting it, so I hope everybody is as prepared as they can be for this. I've been sending out some feelers in the past few months and I already have some leads, so that's helping me not panic as much.

Everyone's leaving

Everyone - and I mean every single person - on my team is job hunting. Not all with the same urgency, but all of them. Leadership doesn't seem to notice or care. I think we'll see a major exodus of talent as soon as the job market improves even slightly. I bet they notice then.

Can I be fire for looking for another role?

With all the doubt around the campus I sent my resume for a role. Turns out the role, through an agency, is with my team and the agent sent my resume to my manager. She wants to meet me Monday, can I be fired for looking for other work in this time of uncertainty?

Get a new job if you’re upset about RTO

Here’s the thing, Fidelity pays a lot lower than competitors. It’s just a fact of the matter. I worked at Fidelity a year ago in WM and as soon as they started the whole RTO thing I did everything in my power to not abide. Leaving early, looking for new jobs on the clock, exceptions etc. believe it or not but if you are licensed that truly does open more doors even in this environment. A lot of the competitors are happy to take us with a nice pay raise

U.S. Jobless Claims Decline; Layoffs Remain Low

U.S. applications for jobless aid decreased last week. Filings dropped by 4,000 to 226,000. This indicates layoffs remain historically low across the country. The U.S. economy added 172,000 new jobs in May. The unemployment rate currently stands at 4.3%.
