It's about time. Loosing $45,000 for every EV Ford produced is a losing game.
Or are we still in the speculation phase? I’ve been hearing about small batches of people being let go here and there, though it’s hard to know what’s true. But nothing concrete yet about the major round that’s supposedly coming. Not that it would be a shocker, but a heads-up would be nice.
2025, and the EV market is still not accepted, and infrastructure is still not in place. Take a clue for $200 Fartley! That's the reason your EV's are not selling like hotcakes! Sales will not change, until someone fixes these issues.

Astounds me. When will companies figure it out. Fire employees bring in AI to replace them. Who will be able to afford their products being unemployed /replaced by AI??

I don't get it. Ford decided to layoff 350 people in may. We can estimate this to be a savings of $42,000,000. Ford's net profit for 2024 was $5.9 billion. What was the point of the layoff? It seems like a drop in the bucket.
Now I'm still looking for a job in this terrible market. A single dad trying to take care of his kid, all while my money running is out. -- It's amazing, I once was celebrated by the company at the highest levels for my contributions (seriously). Now i'm tossed out into the street.

in 2019, which is 6 years ago, Ford introduced the new redesign models Explorer, Escape, F150, Mustang, and Transit. The only model that is still selling above 100,000 units per year is the F150. If you look at these vehicles after 6 years, they are all still look the same.
This is the main reason why Ford vehicles sales are down. Why would anyone want to buy a new vehicle that looks like the ones from 6 years ago.
Ford will ax the Escape and Transit, the Mustang is iconic so Ford will hold on to it even though Ford loses money making the Mustang.

I think Ford will discontinue the F150 Lightning after 2026. They have not done anything to make this EV pickup truck better since it was introduced in May 2021. No wonder Ford can't sell it and no one want to buy it.

Rivian is not the only automaker affected. In August, General Motors temporarily laid off 360 workers at its Factory ZERO plant in Detroit, citing “market dynamics” and reduced EV demand. Most of the H1Bs are remote and having working multiple jobs, and pulled unqualified spouses into the company. When will this stop? Ford is renewing H1Bs while laying off Americans!!! WAKEUP!!!!!
There will be layoffs to reduce overhead so the dividend checks to the Ford family can continue.
Ford will stop production of the Escape, just like the other discontinue models. Ford can't compete with Toyota, Kia, Hyundai, Mazda, or Nissan any more. The sales number of the Escape continue to drop and Ford is loosing money making the Escape.
Same as these models: Edge, Fusion, Taurus, Fiesta, Focus, Explorer Hybrid, Transit Connect.
For Mach E, and Lightning are next on the list.
Soon Ford will not be able compete in the pickup truck industry. This is when Ford will declare bankruptcy.

Apparently our "leadership", for lack of better words, believe that none of the current employees who have dedicated decades to the company and know its people and processes are competent enough to be promoted.
HR must have been wooing the Stellantis hires long before walking the Ford employees out as their replacement are announced with 48 hours. No wonder morale is low.
There will be a significant workforce reduction at the Bridgestone Off-the-Road Tire Plant in Normal. Neither the company nor the United Steelworkers union representing workers could provide a precise number of jobs targeted.
