Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Is the big round of layoffs definitely happening in October?

Or are we still in the speculation phase? I’ve been hearing about small batches of people being let go here and there, though it’s hard to know what’s true. But nothing concrete yet about the major round that’s supposedly coming. Not that it would be a shocker, but a heads-up would be nice.

@b5 That's funny. I had a different here starting in '22. Everyone around me got promoted except me! I never had a second to myself! So many new faces!

@35s Do you really think HR is posting on here? If so let's see some proof....

@ba The “Shocker, right?” / “Classic move, right?” exchange is too perfectly mirrored in tone. Real employees in distress don’t coordinate cutesy rhetorical phrasing.

Sounds like you're subtly reinforcing the idea that layoffs are inevitable and that looking for other jobs is disloyal, not a rational response to failure at the top.

I am convinced snarky veneer by HR (or leadership) is how they cope for misinterpreting pain as cultural currency is the root cause of problems at Ford Motor Company.

Many people at Ford deserve fairness. And it is coming to them. The judgement day to make it reality and experience it.

Imminent all NDPs are about to be signed. Again, the untouchables makes decisions who is going. The ones that destroyed Ford.

@OP. I don't think there is anything happening on October, and it seems there will be no big layoff this year. I was expecting a big one this year, like many of my coworkers. However, I found out 2 Agency coworkers were told they are done in December, no renewals. Coupled with the lack of rumours, it would support that no massive layoffs are happening this year. Still, Ford is bleeding NA workers, between people quitting and those small cuts.

@b6 Shocker, right? Delayed again, darn. Guess we all have another month to pretend like we're not actively looking for a new job.

@ap Classic move, right? They always seem to be 'catching up' on paperwork when it’s crunch time. Feels like HR is always the last to know when it's time to act. 😂 But seriously, I’m curious how this is gonna shake out—November could be a bloodbath if they're behind on everything. Anyone else hearing whispers about even more cuts? Or are we all just waiting for the other shoe to drop?

Just saw the recruiter who scouted me in 2022 was just laid off from a post on LinkedIn.

Ford lost all best people. There will be no good future anymore.

I’ve heard the October plan has been punted to November because HR didn’t have their $hit together with all the required paperwork. For someone who was part of a “small group” in the last few months, it shall be interesting to see who joins us in the unemployment lines.

Executives saving their a-s means cutting costs. This executive team has expertise at blaming down. It is a Harvard strategy.
