Ikea and being enamoured...

How many have seen you seen the social feeds regarding the exciting things others are doing in analytics? While all this goes on, we keep playing in the toddler's pool. We'd rather focus on diversity (which is important, but should be innate, not a... — read more

Broadcom Acquiring SAS. Is TDC next?

They buy struggling companies with strong balance sheets and turn them around. The first thing they do is fire 95% of the executives to save costs. That’s the kind of RIF we need. Let’s hope they set their sights on TDC next. It’s our last hope… — read more

Soon, nobody will want to join

Companies depend on their reputation to be able to hire the best talent which is of crucial importance for their future. Our reputation has been tarnished at best and nearly completely ruined at worst in the last few years. Why would anybody with... — read more

How many of your colleagues have left recently?

I have been here a long time and it has never happened before that so many colleagues quit in such a short period of time. I absolutely understand them, and I would leave right away if I had found a better opportunity, but I don’t understand this... — read more

When did things get this bad?

I don't remember having to deal with all this uncertainty, constant stress, frustration over no direction, navigating department politics, and so much more as recently as five years ago. How could have things changed so much in such a short period?... — read more

You need to do something about it

So many people are worried about their future at TD but the fact is, everybody can do something about it. Make a plan right now, look at what your options are, start networking... You are just ruining your health by constantly worrying about things... — read more

Tie ELT Compensation to Revenue and New Customer Growth

Why do the top execs make so much money when they can’t grow revenue or win new customers in a red hot market? $20M for SM when all he has done is waste millions on McKinsey? Someone should put a tent over this circus.

Are they powerless

to stop all the customers leaving? It seems to me that never before have so many customers left TD. This negative trend just doesn't stop. On the other hand, I can’t believe they’re doing nothing to stop it? Or are they just powerless to do it after... — read more

on a lighter note, have a great weekend everyone!

These days at Teradata I am very pleased to announce and welcome blah blah blah to our GTM/ELT/Strategy team. As we reinvent our organization to help our customers move to the cloud, we are seeking highly skilled professionals who have no clue about... — read more

profit or loss

As Q2 comes to a close who wants to take guesses on what will happen with stocks and revenue? I see the shell game of reoccurring revenue taking a hit.

They’ve done it again!

IT rollout with no thought or real testing. Engineers are stuck and can’t do useful work. Senior leaders look the other way. I predict out of business in two years.

Teradactyl..

I'm fed up with being here, I feel like a dinosaur. I joined a few years ago, out of university. Many of my peers went to work for Microsoft, Amazon and Google - I thought I was making a bold decision. OMG, I was so wrong, I loathe this place and... — read more

This shouldn't be the case

Experience is no longer an asset here. It used to be that the longer you were here, the more respected you were. We used to have management that knew years with the company meant you had the kind of knowledge that was considered irreplaceable. These... — read more

What's hindering successful project delivery?

Every 6mo we have projects being made and trashed away. Did we even successfully deliver anything? What someone mentioned is very interesting to me because I have noticed that the company has more and more problems when it comes to delivering... — read more

TD hired a female CFO

As usual TD is late to the table; hire a few male execs, followed up by ONE female hire just to show we're "Diverse & Inclusive". She has a tough job ahead of her, good luck to you madam.

How would you feel if...

someone told you that Teradata will be acquired soon? Note: this is not about having any information about someone acquiring a TD or intending to do so, but I am just interested in what your opinions are whether this might be good for this... — read more

New Engineering Leadership Please

We need a leader who is technical and has a vision. HA is a product manager good at limiting what’s on the truck. Look at all the new innovation from Snowflake. How can we compete with that? She hasn’t delivered anything new. What exactly do you have... — read more

Best days are far in a past

Do you have a "just in case" plan?

Even if you consider yourself safe, you should have a "just in case" plan ready for possible future layoffs. A coworker who was certain he had nothing to worry about was laid off a few months ago. To say he was unprepared would be an understatement... — read more

Where Is The Diversity at Teradata?

We keep getting trained on diversity and the meaning of privilege. But Teradata keeps hiring only white people on the ELT? Another announced today. But they all signed a pact to help end racism! Does this mean these highly compensated white... — read more

MC out - any special meaning?

Wondering if it's a retirement or departure without any special connotation or cause or is there something more behind? As in, welcome to the age of speculative capital, on the road to being sold for parts? Would love to be proven wrong...

Why can't Teradata attract an experienced CEO with industry experience. I think this question that someone asked is very interesting. I would not like the discussion to go in the direction of criticizing the current or previous leading people... — read more

A company for managers

Too many managers, too few leaders, less and less workers. It's Teradata. Too many bosses spoil the broth. I believe this would be a much better company if there were fewer of them. Do we have to have that many? What do you think, how many of those... — read more

Can TD be fixed?

I enjoyed working here a few years ago, but without any exaggeration I think the future is doom and gloom. Some believe that with a little vision and a good strategy, the company could get back on track, but I still think that's wishful thinking... — read more
