However, I wonder if this company has always been like this, in the sense that the attitude towards employees has always been this bad?

As a former employee (seems to important to Marketing trolls), when you’re at Teradata for a number of years, you become like an abuse vic. You think you can’t do better, no one would want you, you deserve what you’re getting, you think the toxic environment is normal; until you get the guts to leave or laid off. It wasn’t always like this- Once VL stepped in and kicked off his “layoff business model”, things changed IMO, and not for the better.
If what those studies say is true, it's hard to imagine how Teradata went from nothing to the greatest data warehouse on Earth before diversity quotas became a thing. Or maybe those studies are nonsense. I'm betting the latter.
Companies should focus on getting products to market that solve customer problems and making a profit. The diversity and social engineering by wealthy ELT members is self serving and disingenuous. They are all “privileged” and live in gated communities. When they jump on a cause like BLM without supporting police too they alienate half the employees. Teradata has always been inclusive. This is just d-mb management.
As your skin colour magically enlightened you to be an expert on all forms diversity, you assuredly know that intentional focus on diversity of thought is needed at Teradata. You also would likely tell us that independent studies have demonstrated increased revenue and employee sat, stemming from diversity programs. What isn't clear, is how much you know about revenue generation from new product release cycles. Hint: a significant new release will take years to reach a mature revenue flow.
If you have any postulations from somewhere other than your bahoochie, please do share - ELT lurkers might actually take you seriously.
I've had enough of this foolishness for tonight.
Hey Wazoo, exactly who is stalling the new releases?? No way is it all of the competent people that the ELT has hired right? Perhaps if the ELT was focused on product development instead of spewing diversity bs that they don’t even believe in, new products would have already been released. No, the priority is to make sure we are hiring enough people with the correct skin color, and is in favor of LGBT, who needs any skills to actually perform in a job role if you fit the new criteria. As a skilled person of color that has been here over 5 years, I find this woke bs insulting.
assumes "the leadership" is somehow stalling product release. doesn't serve their interest. they are pushing us to get releases out
But let’s help the refugees?? WTF Teradata, you can’t even help yourself as a company! How about you try focusing on creating a thriving business instead of woke bs. I hung up on todays call. This company certainly doesn’t have its priorities figured out. Too much bs about diversity, refugees and transgender. How about fixing the delay of new product release? Give us something to sell, install and support or is that asking too much from this lame leadership??
Slaves. Yes, the insightful comments continue. I assume there is a holocaust reference coming soon as well? How are you not embarrassed even considering comparing this to the plight of slaves?
If your managers treat your employees like slaves, what are you expecting from your employees? Loyalty? Are you serious?
Yup. No Loyalty At All. Not A Nanoscopic Amount. None. You Perceive With Perfect Clarity.
That would be sarcasm, in case the toxic dolts need it explained to them. GTFO
Yes, it’s always been that way. They give no loyalty but expect it from employees. And that’s fine. You get paid and you give work. But them saying they care about employees is PR cr-p.
Question: Are you a current employee?
