Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Need to get rid of SB and DH. Also definitey Me!

How many more years are these two guys Stephen Brobst and Dan Harrington going to ride this gravy train? They have nothing new to add and have not been innovative for ages. CTO has no cue what the technology around him is. DH is stuck in the last century in ideas and innovation. He keeps his crew of old CS and PS foks around taking big salaries.

SB talks a good game but never delivers. The CTO is purportedly an innovator, someone who propels the company forward as a technological visionary whose ideas get operationalized in the technology. SB has done none of that. He gets paid a high salary to do little more than add technical credibility on sales calls. The last true innovation at Teradata was the bynet, which predates SB by several decades.

Why is DH still here? CS outsourced and PS imploding. What is he good for? Besides that he is really old and out of touch.

Mr Bo--s is established persona in industry and he generously agrees to give his name to product like TD. CHOP THE DEAD WOOD

SB has missed every major shift in the industry the past 15 years. He dismissed appliances and was a cloud denier. As CTO he has not driven and acquisitions in adjacent and complimentary areas. And he’s stuck in an enterprise-only mindset. Plus he’s not even a full-time employee. Plus his burning man escapades are inconsistent with our new woke culture. Time for him to exit.

SB exists for TD to have its "street cred." The guy does not make decisions on overll architectual direction of Vantage or related TD products. TD really needs someone who knows and understands all of the TD products, architecture, and technology and can make smart decisions about where it's going. Without TD hiring such a person, TD will continue to struggle to build credible products.

I've not seen SB around in ages - especially not in any all hands. Wondering if he's just being sidetracked or retired or a search is on for a replacement or the ELT is not even sure we need one, which wouldn't surprise me as long as we can BS our way out with inspirational quotes from Simon Sinek instead

I haven’t quite figured out what SBs purpose is other than going to burning man.

It is perplexing why SB is still kept around. How can a tech company have a "CTO" who is not an employee and not present. since he's not an employee that's why IT is under Finance and Engineering under HA.
