Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

This is not unique to TD

Things have doubtlessly changed for the worse in the last decade or so but the same is the case for 99 percent of other companies. Everything around you is changing - most often for the worse - so I don't understand why people act shocked that TD is a part of that trend. If you can't wait to leave for another company, I think you'll be unpleasantly surprised when you get there if you expect it to be much better in the way it treats its employees. This is the new normal, people. Learn to deal with it.

The OP’s obviously ELT or Digital Marketing, the only two groups still drinking the koolaid. The rest of us, YES, we are looking for those “greener pastures” because the existing mgmt doesn’t give us a reason to stay!

"You are tolerating the abuse of being more aware of racial or equity issues?" You outed yourself with that one NC. News flash - nobody cares about your lifestyle choices. However, we do care about our jobs and our customers and you are standing in the way of that. If you want to preach, go and start a church somewhere but leave the rest of us alone.

"This is a smashingly good thread that highlights the shallowness and juvenile foolishness of many who post here. OP says "the grass isn't always greener" and cretins here downvote. Embarrassing and imbecilic."

Is it at all possible that maybe they don't agree with the OP?

I get a chuckle out of "Cancel Culture Victims" like yourself. You are allowed to post your unpopular opinion, but nobody is allowed to comment or rate it or exercise THEIR freedom to downvote you, or they are "embarassing and imbecillic". GTFO

#TeradataSucks. Stop rationalizing it. Visionless and spineless management has driven a once innovative company into the ground. Current management is just sucking the last revenue from existing customers to get their RSUs vested. Then they will leave. GTFO

That was a mature and sensical response. Whoever you are, you should GTFback. We need more of you.

I was at Teradata for a very long time, and cared about the company, that's why I still follow this board; I still care. But, the comment that it's the same everywhere else is completely inaccurate. I left a few years ago and found a great company that has a great culture. I do agree with some of the posts here that are saying GTFO. If you do not like how you are being treated, get out. You will probably be surprised how good it is elsewhere....

This is a smashingly good thread that highlights the shallowness and juvenile foolishness of many who post here. OP says "the grass isn't always greener" and cretins here downvote. Embarrassing and imbecilic.

But y'all don't stop. One poster has jumped a couple jobs, yet stalked and commented WITHIN 6 HOURS of the first post! Let go, and go away. Or the poster stating they don't want to willingly tolerate abuse. You are tolerating the abuse of being more aware of racial or equity issues? Whatever, please leave. Or then the post about threats of layoff every quarter - not sure where you are, but we are hearing the opposite. Is this just a story you like repeating to make fodder for TheLayoff? You too, please leave.

The toxic dolts who post here, but still opt to keep taking a paycheck from Teradata, need to GTFO. You are the problem.

Gee no more toxicity, Marketing throwing us under the bus, no more ungrateful ELT, HR holding as-----s accountable, getting away from threats of layoffs every quarter, better pay? Life outside of TDC will definitely be better.

It's only a trend because employees tolerated it. But woke indoctrination, ideology testing, forced jabs, etc are a bridge too far, hence the great resignation that is underway now. I'd rather take a chance on a new company than live with the fact that I willingly tolerated the abuse at Teradata in exchange for a not so great paycheck.

the two companies that i have worked for since leaving TDC have been MUCH better. I left TDC by my decision, so no sour grapes here. Change is inevitable, just find 'good' change, change that is moving a company forward, not change that is reshuffling the same deck of cards.

It may not be much better, but the pay raise, bonus, and stock options will be better.
