Revenue Growth and Profitability vs. Social Re-engineering

What is the role of the CEO and ELT? To run the business or change our society? I’m not talking about addressing harassment and discrimination. Surely that needs to be done. But a lot of the recent diversity focus is beyond their scope and is actually hurting our business. Many ELT hires were a result and they are not able to do their job. We need to hire the best candidates, period or we won’t have a company to work for.

Agree. Highly successful companies like Google and Amazon can afford to waste some money and energy on non-business related pet projects. Struggling companies living on borrowed time cannot. Goes to show how deluded the ELT is that they think Teradata has the luxury of being able to devote significant resources to extracurricular activities like a successful company.

Much easier for SM, KCC, HA, and NC to talk about woke issues like racism, gender, white privilege, se-ual orientation, climate change, …than why we are not winning any new customers or growing revenue. Diversity is actually a diversion away from the issues facing our business and we all just go along and get certified. Nothing listed above has anything to do with Snowflake eating our lunch.

She is a real executive. Her job is to f--- over employees and lay them off, so that the company can falsely claim revenue because the ELT is too incompetent to earn money the old fashioned way--by stimulating growth.

You can be profitable, drive growth and a socially responsible company with a diverse ELT/BOD.

But you need leaders and talent that out customers first, then employees, and then themselves.

I'm sorry but SM, KCC, HA and the others are just not that.
