Is there going to be layoffs? It’s almost that time of the year…
Has anyone had a hiring freeze in their dept?
I’ve seen people leave, but rarely anyone new to take their place.

doubt it on layoffs, we're hiring people just to onboard more people
I'd say it depends if the ELT's bonus plan is in part based on "identifying and laying off the bottom 5% of performers (but only in the USA)". Since the people quitting are unlikely to be the bottom performers, that means the ELT has some chopping to do if they want to meet at least one of their bonus plan requirements.
Blame it on the ‘great resignation’ rather than a specific issue
All hands just talked about the large amount of resignations, my guess is no layoffs this year
People are leaving on their own. The attrition is alarming and is getting worse by the week. Most smart people are no longer here. I’m just trying to hold out until retirement but if I was young I’d quit today and find a better company. So no layoffs this year 😀
