Same cr-p, different logo! Pretty sure we're having layoffs today! Several have gotten the "Business Update" meeting invite for this morning...

Rumor has it that Refining and Commercial ELT members are on their way out.

Lots of meetings taking place in commercial following the Q1 hole we dug for ourselves. Looks like Mandell will be the one to pay for it, with a “retirement.”

Wondering when I should start looking out. Waiting for the layoff meeting is always a good time!

There are rumors circulating that 100–150 employees may be laid off beginning today, June 16.

Several anonymous first- and second-hand accounts claim that departmental managers are not being informed in advance about which employees will be affected. According to these reports, some employees are being told their positions have been eliminated and escorted out of the building, while others are being notified via Zoom or Teams.

At this point, none of this information has been verified.

MUHC has a Town Hall scheduled for tomorrow at noon.

Lubbock, Ocean Springs & Lafayette all received their surplus meetings today. August closures confirmed with reps given the option to go fully virtual.

Seems like many were told to work remote and there are update meetings again.

What does everyone recommend we do if our boss puts a meeting invite on 6/17? Does that mean we are toast? Has anyone considered taking PTO or blocking off their calendar day on 6/17 with more important meetings? I am just going to say that our application has an urgent security concern that needs to be addressed or it risks being shutdown. It is a joke how this is being handled at our company.

So our claims team hasn't had our monthly team meeting with our director in the last 3 months..all he did was talk the #'s of the dept and bits of info and give people there anniversary props who had one. then we would a a Q&A...he was so prompt about this but its changed over the last few months...has anyone had anything similar with thier depts over the last few months also??

I do not think lay offs are going to happen any time soon. They can’t afford the bad press. Every meeting isn’t “the big one”

Anyone got any clue as to what the H is going on this weekend? Intranet says executive board meetings from 06/05-06/09. I’ve heard rumors Ed Rust has been spotted A LOT in Bloomington but it’s just a rumor.

This afternoon, received an incoming Teams calls from a colleague that there was no pending work with. It was a surprise, so but answered the call. The screen populated with every team member, manager and director. "It tolls for thee," was the reaction. As everyone realized that everyone was there except the colleague who made the call. Surprise registered, especially with the director. They said, "What are we doing here? I didn't place this call." Relief washed over the crowd. Several offered comments about these short notice meetings not being good news. Everyone laughed nervously. It appeared that the colleague had accidently placed that call. In this environment, there was an immediate response to arrive. Sheesh! There was more laughing as everyone logged off, with an undercurrent of, WHEW!

Supervisor here. It makes zero sense to me that those were told to leave Qatar are being punished for leaving Qatar in the assessment meeting. How can you punish people who were not given the opportunity to stay for not staying?

All of the silly meetings to check in with people, but it’s 30 minutes and 19 of it is spent on telling us about the career you haf (good for you, but we’ve all had the same thing and it doesn’t matter we’re talking about now but that doesn’t matter clearly to you )OK good job time wasted. Looks like I survived another month. Should I be more proactive and schedule a meeting with my supervisor and HR, and ask for my severance?

I just want to do my actual job and go home. Instead, I spend hours in meetings where nothing gets accomplished, where we generate more questions than answers, and where people just complain about things that no one is going to fix. It is exhausting and completely pointless.

It looks like the hammer might be dropping tomorrow. Multiple reports all along the vine are saying the meeting did in fact happen this morning - informing senior leadership what / whom is to be let go. Does days in the office matter? Does commits? Tenure? H1B status? Pay? No one knows the parameters, but the meetings with the boys upstairs have started.

My team just had that dreaded meeting today, and it was absolutely infuriating. They called everyone together just to announce that layoffs are coming, then hit us with the useless line, “Sorry, I don’t have any other information to share right now.” What the actual he-l is the point of these meetings? Why drag us all in just to dump that anxiety on us when you have zero details to give? It just piles on even more stress for no reason whatsoever.

Just pulled into a meeting, more layoffs for remote people to support the “client first initiative” clients need us in the office.
