Quality at it's lowest

The biggest past baggage is still heading the testing and that is resulting in every day deterioration of Coupa quality with many escalations coming every day. Now next list of layoffs is ready just after the current events and she is destroying everything just to save her job. All strong performers under her have left because of her incompetence. Every one in testing team is trying to move to development or leave the company and only people left are those who are not getting anything else. Worst to come for Coupa quality and the remaining people !!

Employee quits after company forces 5-day office return, manager regrets it a month later

Companies may be able to enforce attendance policies, but they cannot force genuine engagement or loyalty. When businesses prioritize rigid systems over practical realities and employee trust, they often risk losing their most valuable people.

Cisco is nothing but a disaster

People quitting every month. Almost no chance of moving up. Clear favoritism along ethnic lines. And the list goes on and on. And the sad thing is that I remember when this was a great place to work. When it earned the top spot on the best workplace lists. And that wasn't even that long ago.

Quiet layoffs

Why is elt so narrow minded that they want to make the environment so vile, most talented people quit. And all you're left with is geriatric, brainwashed boomers, or offshore low level talent?

If you want to be #1, don't use the excuse "well Exxon is doing it!". To be first you set your culture and company apart, not the same, mo--ns.

Mass Exodus

Soooo many posts on LinkedIn in recent weeks of coworkers across multiple departments who’ve been here 5/10/15+ years leaving for better opportunities. Proactively leaving and not waiting for next round of layoffs in case they get hit next. Good for them and god help us who stay on this sinking ship thinking anything will change.

2010: ~200K fulltime employees ... 2025: ~90K fulltime employees (firings are not new)

... and the number of cell sites probably tripled. In most cases, VZ will fire you quickly if you are not cutting it (and replace you with a contractor, not backfill). So if you have lasted over 3 years or so, you have shown you are adaptable and are getting your work done (excluding outliers who may be competent, but hard to work with, so should maybe be cut). But, in the Nov 2025 firings (they are not layoffs), MANY people with 10, 20 and some with 30 years of experience were kicked out. This shows the utter incompetence of VZ leadership. They have no idea how to run a long term business (kicking out the most effective employees to make a budget look better). Leadership looked at the cost of those employees and MAYBE whether they took an AI class here or there (even though there were no AI applications available for that particular job and still aren't) and made uninformed decisions. Completely CLUELESS. If/When an AI tool became available for those employees' roles, those people would adapt, just like they have done for 10, 20 and 30 years.

And for those very few people who talk about a lot of dead weight being cut, you are showing your ignorance. Of course there were a few employees who "earned" being cut, but you are delusional if you think you are somehow more valuable because VZ chose to keep you over someone else. You are just a line item on a sheet that was overlooked by some BOZO higher up.

Cohen Proposes Major eBay Staff Reductions

Activist investor Ryan Cohen has proposed acquiring eBay Inc. He sharply criticized eBay's current operating structure and large workforce. Cohen stated that 11,500 employees do not make sense for an asset-light business. He plans aggressive cost-cutting and headcount reductions if his bid succeeds. This strategy aims to increase earnings and accelerate innovation.

No more Remote = Time to Move On

Last week I found out that they're doing an RTO mandate for all of tech. An absolute cluster-fck of infrastructure to get 700 roles back in office. I'm sure this will make less driven employees more productive and the shoe designers who cry foul about fairness happy, but for those of us who actually cared about sh-t getting done, all it tells us is that it's time to hit the remote-first market, where there are no haves and have nots, only fair, trusting work models for competent people.

All of your most driven employees are now in the process of self-selecting their way out of the company. Velocity is going to sink as the people with the most initiative start using downtime to send applications instead of make up for their colleagues' deficits.

Just remember this the next time holiday readiness falls apart or you're dealing with unmaintainable copy paste AI slop. You are asking your best to leave, and a lot of us were perfectly content with your sub-par compensation schemes and nonexistent promotions before this because we didn't have to put up with 699 other guys trying to take Zoom calls from an open office with no privacy or hour long traffic slogs.

But at least it's fair now, and you can backfill those roles in ITC, and AI/ML will print infinite money for you any day now, right?

May Layoff is Happening 100%

Workday IT support and legal have reviewed everything. They are now testing the data loads into workday. Pipeline is built out and the final kinks are being worked out now. Its been 6 months since the last one, most leaders are worried, on high alert, and ready for movement to get going next week. Lists were made a couple months ago based on the scripting and code prompts being run in workday for testing the last 2-3 weeks. If your manager doesn't think this is true they just have their head in the sand. Q1 results good or bad would change stop this from happening, this is Dan's plan "cut cut cut and cut so more". We took on billions in new debt, cutting employees is the only way to pay that back. Expect another one next quarter before the stock grant is given in October.

The voluntary exodus

I've watched seven talented people quit in the last nine months. Another three are currently interviewing elsewhere. The company is bleeding experience every week. And yet they're still talking about another round of layoffs. At this rate, there won't be anyone left to fire.

Academy of Sciences Lays Off Employees Amid Budget Shortfall

The San Francisco-based Academy of Sciences is cutting 53 positions. These reductions affect approximately 9.3% of its workforce. The institution faces a $7.3 million shortfall for 2025. Increased expenses, reduced tourism, and lower donations caused the strain. Program adjustments, like ending new planetarium shows, are also planned.

Valued Coworkers Continue To Leave

My LinkedIn feed continues to see posts of good coworkers leaving on the own and the posts are increasing in frequency. CDW leadership is ki-ling what used to be a great company (those days are long gone). Leave now while CDW still means something on your resume.
