Just curious how those of you with full time offers AND WFH designations (due to office proximity) are feeling about the acquisition? I’m definitely getting the sense that there are two camps forming within VMware: The unlucky RTO camp And The... — read more
Another merger mess up. Non US residents affected
Anyone outside US has got charged Non residents withholding tax for the cash portion of merger as Vmware/BC have INCORRECTLY advised E-Trade to treat as Dividends. Make sure you raise with the stock admin team/help now case.
eTrade has not paid anyone correct cash value (partial shares)
The cash value for partial shares that were accepted for conversion, is still not deposited in Etrade. Lets say 31 shares were submitted for conversion to AVGO and you received 7 shares. Cash value related to 3 VMW shares (around 0.75 AVGO) is still... — read more
The irony of the situation...
In VMware I had a car allowance and I worked from home. Now, they suppressed my car allowance and I have to go to the office. Thanks Broadcom!!!
Does anyone know about the expedited RSU for 06/01/2024.
If you were getting layoff these RSU would be expedited and you would receive them. I'm wondering if this goes for transition employees as-well?
Return to Office is not evidence based
It's not based on metrics for how well we actually do our jobs. It's not based on any study. It's not based on a comparison of individual contributors during work from home vs working in the office. Let's just call it what it is. Return to Office... — read more
Broadcom stock potential growth
Just a discussion about how much this stock can perform in the future. I'm deciding if it's better to keep it or divest and put everything on my diversified S&P 500 ETF (on accumulation base) This stock is mainly driven by earnings, dividend and P/E... — read more
AVGO shares and cash cost basis
How is the cost basis calculated for the former VMW shares? On E-trade, I saw the cost basis for AVGO shares is $0, does that mean if we sell, all the sale amount will be taxable? Doesn’t seem right to me because we paid for the VMW ESPP shares and... — read more

Has anyone received fidelity account info for RSUs vesting Nov and Dec if you did not have one before? (I am on etrade). Will it be emailed to personal emails? (If leaving vmware / broadcom)

Employees in China still haven't received offer letters
Most teams were forced to RTO without getting an official offer letter from their managers a month ago and told to focus on their work. This is insufferable.
Any transition offers in EMEA?
Hi all, Did anyone receive or heard about any transition offers in EMEA? Reason why I'm asking is that although I got new offer, all communication coming from Broadcom indicate that there will not be any need for my role in couple of months and I'm... — read more

After a week and $60 down per share, it’s there! Now I can sleep in peace.
Puppy
I’m going to use my severance money to buy a puppy. I don’t really care about BC or VMW lmao
Food for thought...(this is a sincere post, truly)
Broadcom have never competed against the public cloud, until now. Selling software is a beast, you’re going against the best. Selling hardware is transactional- it’s easy to sell when all you’re competing against is pricing. It appears to me that... — read more
How exactly do you define EUC in a selloff?

Will BC Force The Change?
I wonder if BC are going to be able to change VMware as much as one person at the top wants to. I’ve read all the comments and seen the articles online about the company meeting, back to the office and so on, but no one can force a culture change... — read more
Reject FTE
I wonder if there are people who refused FTE? I understand that conditions differ depending on the country, but I don't think I've heard of any actual examples yet.

Unvested VMware RSUs?
I can’t see anything about unvested RSUs on the FAQ. What will happen to those, are they terminated or will they be converted to BC stock with same vesting schedule?

My week at a VMware Office has best since joining Broadcom - Broadcom GTO Support
You know it's bad when the IT staff sent from Broadcom are bragging about the VMware office vibe. Just speaking with them they mentioned that this week was the best experience they've had while at Broadcom.

Worst employee experience and migration I've ever seen
They had 18 months to plan this out? Makes you realize just how good Workspace One is...this is brutal. I would expect this from an HP or an Oracle but not from a company who wants to be a leader. Awful.
