Hearing rumblings that we’ll be told our fates this week in DW, has anyone on here been told yet?

For those that are in parts of the business that have already announced org charts, are they doing some time bound roles this time like reshape?

I hear many people at Woodcreek talking about P&T Deepwater Layoffs. Are we still in the only Management knows phase or are the individuals finding out already?

After buying BG and sacking most of the bg folks, Shell has shown it can make big deals work. Maybe head office was moved to uk so that they can more easily buy bp, then move head office after that. There would be potential for huge cost savings…

When Exxon bought Mobil, they prefaced it with 5 years of cuts and followed up with 5 more after the merger. Buckle up!

I think it’s just potential speculations and plans, I don’t see many people are impacted. So just wonder where are those and will most be intact after all?

I just joined the company (IGU) less than 6 months ago. Do u think with this info, will increase/decrease the possibility of me to be redundant.

How many jobs moving to India?

Apparently the layoff percentage across different departments is around 10 to 15%. You think the same will happen to IGU ?

With all the waves of layoffs primarily targeting seniors, it’s no longer a place where you can retire - you will be kicked out way before your legitimate retirement age.

It's kind of like when one of your friends gets married. It puts ideas in their heads and soon, everybody is doing it. If you don't act fast, all the good ones will get snapped up. Then you're left with some ugly Scot with a lot of bad gas.

Seems like management want to reduce this as its high compared to competitors...why do we have such a high number? Do we have too many subsurface and engineers compared to competitors?
