Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

Wael response to SPS . . . Laugh/cry?

During the Town hall today when Wael spoke to SPS scores . . . Referring to pockets to excellence (people who didn't write bad reviews) and then saying he wasn't sure if poor organsional leadership came down to him as it's everyone responsibility to adopt change. Then the whole piece on that's Shell does care (regardless of what SPS says because we're laying people off) because we're helping poor people in Africa and India through charity . .

Never seen anyone shirk/deflect responsibility of negative opinions because of massive layoffs like that (including bringing in the third world to get off the hook!?).
Couldn't help but laugh and turn off the webcast. This guy is something else.

Sayonara BvB. Time to call Kool and the Gang and spin up ‘Celebration’.

He might be on to something. What is BVB? An id--t, d-bag, su-k-up, all of the above? BVB should have told his daughter that his company enriches people by providing energy they need to escape poverty.

BVB is Ben van Beurden, a former CEO of Shell

When you retire, rollover your Blackrock managed funds in Shell to another company. They are all bad but not as bad as Blackrock.

Wael was handed a sh-t sandwich. RDS had a history of bad decisions re operations and HR motivated by EU- and geo-politics and by very strange ideologies. Some rooted in McKinsey fantasies and pressed by Black Rock, Vanguard, and Davos and their arrogance and pure contempt for ordinary people. Some enforced by bad national and international protocols entered into because the politicians were desperate for a deal, ANY deal.

Shell is significantly weaker because BVB and his daughter and the board were/are really stupid a--holes. They wanted access to the best clubs and Shell is weak and betting on a business model that is, except for trading, dependent on subsidies and will become less profitable as the supply builds outs and prices drop. We are way overpaying for retail sites and we will never earn an adequate risk-adjusted return.

Wael is a product of this broken system but maybe brings a diverse viewpoint that allows him to see Shell for what it is.

We don't like layoffs but the company culture needs to change and the dildos who shaped this company need to go. It's a new day, a new reality. There is no new world order anymore.

But I doubt he has the ba--s or the clout to effect needed change.

Completely avoided the question about rebuilding staff trust. No ba--s to face his own decisions that's kinda pathetic

I didn’t even bother to watch. I knew it was going to be something id--tic like what you described.
