Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

Any idea how many US staff are impacted (seems more than 20%)?

This site seems more resourceful than Shell HR and pathetic Bosses (not leaders). Do you think it’s fair to say, Shell USA laid-off more than 7,000 staff?

“Talent Cards” are a total joke too. Let’s make it harder for internal employees to post vs. external hires.

Depends on which group. Gabriel (Data Digital & Innovation) said his group globally is 50% with more impact in the US, NL, and CA. So maybe that's 70% reduction?

IT is offshoring many positions to India, so net loss might be 30%, but loss in US, NL, and CA is probably more like 80%.

Don't worry though - the leaders will save their friends. The process will be anything but fair, the boxes already have names in them, and your CV/cover letter is likely never to be read by the hiring manager. The whole application process is to give the illusion of control. They will hire the same people and expect different results, as they've always done.
