Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

This company is a clusterf-ck

Ever since joining Shell in the last couple years it’s been evident that something is horribly wrong here.

Management doesn’t lead - they’re only self-serving and looking for the next promotion. Processes are strictly enforced but are not documented or too convoluted to be easily understood and result in delays that cause us to be uncompetitive. Unless you personally know someone on the EC you’re probably not ever going to have a significant role, and now, everyone on the bottom of the org gets laid off while management pats themselves on the back for a job well done.

Wael can’t fix this place. No one can. In the long run Shell is f-cked.

I was in a webcast where the LT were proud and almost celebrated they hit the fase 1 OPEX reduction targets for their department. I almost wanted to come of mute saying happy to helped them reaching ther target by loosing my job.

I hate this company and I hate working here these days. I’m so exhausted having to kiss butts to make sure my bosses ego isn’t hurt . How is this doing what’s right for shell? Our managers su-k and no one could care less about their SPS scores. Its miserable and toxic here

Total incompetence by leadership. Total contempt for all employees JG 3 and below. Evidenced by SPS data stating leadership is horrendous and value proposition to employees su-ks. The response? HR Canada announces 5% cut to JG3 bonus for next year. Indeed a complete clusterf—k! Those with the golden handcuffs are stuck… those that are not, You’d have to be insane to start thinking r continue a career with this company.

I’m not sure Wael has given up on restoring the company to competitive health versus dressing it up with lipstick for takeover. But if it is the former he must recognize the massive agency problem below him discussed in this thread as a very significant challenge.

It's definitely not the same Shell from years ago.

Wael doesn’t WANT to fix this place. It feels like they’re gearing up to close up shop and if it walks like a duck…
