[Non-Tech] What happened to reducing SKUs?

Why haven’t we reduced our product offerings? I thought the ‘reduce SKUs’ insight back in 2020 was supposed to become a strategy to simply make less product. Appears we still have 12,000+ products for sale on Nike.com.

There used to be a sense of pride here

Now it’s just quiet fear and survival mode. No one feels safe, and the idea of having to train someone who didn’t even earn the role is just salt in the wound. I don’t want to be here anymore. Whatever culture we had has been replaced by spreadsheets... — read more

It’s hard coming here now

Too many tech threads and complaining in the tech organization. I use to come here and listen to the complaints around the organization. Now, it’s drowned out by tech people complaining about everything under the sun.

Nike is cooked

Zero cool factor or gravitational pull for kids these days. Leaders are dusty and think the 90s hype and 00s growth is coming back. Not happening. Time to downscale and reset expectations.

Genuine question for this forum

How many of you actually enjoy your job? Not tolerate it, not put up with it for the paycheck, but truly find satisfaction in it? I don’t know anyone in my circle who does. Curious if that’s just my bubble or something bigger.

How's your job search going?

I’ve officially given up on Nike. I’ve been looking non-stop for at least six months and received a few offers, but none really stood out. Fewer opportunities than in previous years, which is worrisome. I’m considering the latest offer - slightly... — read more

Why You Don’t Want IDSA to Fall…

Careful What You Wish For: In Defense of IDSA At every large company, there's a common refrain: the centralized analytics organization is a slow, bureaucratic bottleneck. The calls to dismantle IDSA and embed analysts directly into the business have... — read more

Can it just start

When the f will it end. I don’t trust any “leader” and haven’t for awhile. What would Bill think of this place

US signals intention to rethink job H-1B lottery

https://www.theregister.com/2025/07/20/h_1b_job_lottery/ TLDR; Nike’s contracting firms are going to lose the majority of their staff. Nike will lose 9 out of every 10 ETW. Does our leadership have a plan for how we keep the company running through... — read more

No true leaders left at Nike

I’ve had solid leaders in the past who earned our respect and made hard decisions with integrity. What we have now are people with titles and absolutely no clue how to lead. They manage spreadsheets, not people. Calling them leaders feels like an... — read more

Recommendation

Hi everyone! So I resigned Nike last year and the only thing I miss a lot is that Slack channel for homeowners. I remember there was an excel file for recommended contractors... Any recommendation on a contractor that can put down epoxy on our garage... — read more

CFO to be let go friday

finally, EH has come to his senses and realizing that this guy is not cutting it. There is no strong, competent leadership with MF. This is what happens when you follow the peter principle. Welcome ES to take his place!

More layoffs Friday

More layoffs coming Friday. Are you prepared? Are you ok with it being you and enjoying the rest of summer or are you concerned about looking for another job in this current environment?

Maybe Nike game is old now

Nike had bread and butter formula. Give me public athletic shoes with good looking style with celebrity endorsees with stories tied behind them. Maybe those day is over. Maybe public wants simple casual/athletic style. For crying out loud, we... — read more

So much bitterness and hatred here

If working here makes you so miserable, I really think many of you should start looking for a new job. This is not me being hateful. It's just that I don't think that much bitterness and hatred is healthy. None of us like this job or Nike all that... — read more

MD watching this

Funny how posts related to MDs incompetence have died down since the rumor of her minions watching this forum and firing people !

Will this time be different?

With the reorganization happening will this be the time where we see new people in VP, GM or Sr Director roles? Or will this be the rotation of the same people getting more experience while more of us get overlooked. Same recycled VP/GM or “chosen... — read more

We Good. No Other Big Layoffs

We had SEC in early May, and GT in early June. Sure we still have EMEA folks on a different schedule, however there's been no other announcements. Especially in enabling functions, which usually follow tech.

Construct VPs / CFOP GMs

Anyone with knowledge of what’s been happening in global / NA / APLA on the VP / GM level both for construct (eg women’s) or in fields of play (like global football)? Hearing rumors, but no reliable sources.

What changed?

I see a lot of posts saying today’s managers or leaders aren’t that amazing. Just wondering, what was so great about the ones in the past? Like, how were they different? What did they do that helped Nike do well? Or were they not really that... — read more

It's not like I don't like Nike anymore but...

So, lately I am spiraling into anxiety and sudden outbursts because I no longer believe that we are doing the right thing. Do you feel the same? I mean what EH is doing may do some good for the company, definitely in long run, but what about now... — read more

ETW's layed off without analyzing performance

Net result of reorgs and cuts? A failing team.

My team’s been through too many reorgs and too many cuts. We’ve been changing managers like socks - each one somehow worse than the last. What used to be a high-performing team now feels like a revolving door of leadership and lost talent. We’ve lost... — read more

What does a PIP mean @Nike
