Even more layoffs coming
The news comes in an especially delicate context for tech employment. In just five months of 2026, companies in the sector have accumulated nearly 140,000 layoffs worldwide.

Top Heavy & Toxic - Right?
Most every day, right, there's either a Sr Dir or AD role po$ted. RARELY do you see T3 - T5 postings in either Dig Product or Tech, right? Very few opportunies for promotions, right? I do reckon this company (right) doesn't have its priorities straight. The company should be hiring more of the people who are stressing in the trenches while trying to GSD in such a chaotic/'everything is the the top priority', so do it all' environment. It's becoming quite toxic and unsustainable. But...food truck day....right? Ain't it funny how so many people feel the need to include the word 'right' in every sentence? Or is it just me?
More Cuts In Tech
There will be more cuts in Tech next week. Some may happen this week. Grandpa and his merry brothers are ready to cut. Here are the areas I know - CDAO, CTO, and P&C Tech.
Trust me this is coming down the pike.
I'm finally considering leaving Oracle
Tech role. Anyone test the waters in the job market yet?
Box CEO: AI Misunderstanding Drives Tech Layoffs
Box CEO Aaron Levie highlights a growing disconnect in Silicon Valley regarding AI. He states many tech executives misunderstand AI's full scope and practical challenges. CEOs often see only the "happy path" of AI, ignoring the extensive work required for sustainable results. This limited view contributes to widespread tech industry layoffs. Companies like Meta and Wix have recently reduced their workforces, partly attributing cuts to AI efficiencies.

Job market is not that bad for us
Those of us who come from one of the major tech companies, like Cisco, are probably going to be fine when looking for a job. Recruiters still want us, and we'll land on our feet. The people who are really struggling right now are the ones from smaller companies, and it is brutal out there for them.
Outside Business Activities STS
How is this allowed when STS is so behind on tech compared to others in industry? When others cant do anything that will get approved by compliance

Viber Expands Staff, Skips Efficiency Layoffs
Rakuten Viber increased its headcount by 30% in 2025. This contrasts with many tech companies that implemented efficiency layoffs. The messaging app company reached nearly 600 employees globally. Viber prioritizes employee well-being and stability.

Siemens Building Tech Begins Management Layoffs
Branch GM Roles, Sales Management Roles and Operations Management roles have begun layoffs this week as Siemens continues to restructure while adopting AI technology initiatives across the US. Management roles will continue reductions through 2027.
More Layoffs
Writing was on the wall.
Was waiting for the failures to stack as I remember being on the VAR side and not even being able to communicate with anyone at Atlassian unless I provided them with what seemed like a Wikipedia full of details to just receive a call back (I'm not d-mb...they want all the info to take lead and minimize leverage for the VAR contact)
Well...in a fast moving environment like tech/software/security...there are alternatives/competitors who make it easier to partner and deal with.
I could only imagine what support is like for customers once they are trapped.
The 800 # and those 3 layers deep...horrendous (I got better outcomes calling fast food places with questions).
LinkedIn announces new layoffs in the Bay Area
Microsoft-owned LinkedIn is cutting staff. The exact number of affected workers remains undetermined. This action is part of a wider trend in the tech industry. Many technology companies are currently reducing their workforces. The social media platform is impacted by these market conditions.

Reston Office
The Reston tech office is getting hit hard. Don’t know if it’s everyone there or just some but tech layoffs are going around today.
More Layoff News from Seattle
Starbucks laid off today (not relocated to Nashville) 61 tech jobs in their Tech Support Center. AI continues to claim the tech industry in the greater Seattle area. Even less places for the laid off Seattle Tech Support folks to go.

FIS staff deserve to be outsourced
Worst technical staff.
Business Process Analyst have zero knowledge to analyze business processes. If you ask question, they try to bluff you.
Software architects are even worse. They just throw big words, without understanding the meaning or technology behind it.
Company is doing right thing by outsourcing to Cognizant/Zensar
Trying to hide the mass move to India???
I found this article on LinkedIn -
Nike is undergoing a massive operational reset. In a move that signals a significant shift in corporate strategy, the sportswear giant is consolidating its global technology functions back to its Portland headquarters.
The Shift: Just two years ago, the strategy focused on expansion in hubs like Atlanta for #Al and #Cybersecurity.
Today, the focus has shifted to simplification. By closing tech offices in #Atlanta, #China, and #Poland, Nike is aiming to strip away organizational layers and align its tech talent more closely with core business priorities.
The Context:
Job Cuts: Part of a broader restructuring expected to eliminate ~1,400 roles.
Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) Reassessment: As growth in digital retail moderates, Nike is
No mention of all the jobs they cut in tech in the US getting reposted to rehire in India

End of May
Any word on who will be hit in the sound this month? Optum Tech, any others?
Layoffs coming especially in tech
Heard rumours of layoffs coming especially in tech from September due to poor company performance and execs that obsess over AI especially the ones who used to be at global payment and bailed due to promotion and couldn’t handle the role. India is expanding so if you invest in invesco it’s all controlled via India now.
Toptal Forecasts Remote Tech Roles Expanding Despite Cuts
Toptal predicts growth in remote tech roles. These jobs demand extensive prior experience. This trend happens amidst broad technology job cuts. More than 150,000 technology positions were cut by April. AI integration increases demand for expert workers.

Why RTO for groups not impacted by rif
It seems like the roles impacted are only tech and agile.
What would be the reason to bring the whole company back other than phones, if there’s no RIF impact?
Based on what’s posted here if there’s so many groups with zero impact. Why make everyone miserable just to slash tech?
Milestone Technologies Cuts 66 Prineville Data Center Jobs
Milestone Technologies announced permanent layoffs affecting 66 workers. These employees are at a Prineville data center. The data center is tied to Meta Platforms. Layoffs are occurring due to an expiring contract. Terminations are expected to begin on June 28.

Indiana University Tech Unit Cuts Staff
Indiana University's tech division cut jobs. Thirteen employees received notices of termination. This move aligns staff with institutional goals. It supports research and financial stability. The university remains silent on wider layoffs.

Sell Now!
Tech has no idea what they are breaking with the people they randomly selected to depart. This will set the company back another year. Sell now while you can before you lose more! About to be Under Armor all over again stock wise!
Tech Only?
Were the playoffs that have happened so far this week Tech only?
The real nightmare
Yes layoffs su-k, but coming back if we aren’t cut to the same bloated, toxic and clueless tech leadership is going to be brutal.
Not confident any meaningful cuts will happen at the tech leadership level. Will still be director reporting to director reporting to a couple layered sr dir under a couple of layered vp’s.
Another major Industry layoffs
Meta & Microsoft...USAA will for sure experience the similar situation especially in tech where it is so much shaky. Zero psychological safety the core Agile principle for success.
Finally
Someone at the top figured out Nike is not a Tech company.
*** AI ***
Here’s the current tech market we all work in, and a warning below:
“There are many different ways to lose your job. On Thursday, two tech giants decided to take different paths in dispatching thousands of their employees.
First there was Microsoft, which is said to be offering voluntary retirement to thousands of its workers. About 7% of of its US employees will be eligible for the buyouts, something the legacy giant has never previously done at this scale.
Then there’s Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta. The company shot out a memo on Thursday saying it planned to terminate 10% of workers, or roughly 8,000 employees, starting May 20. Meta employees have spent much of the year fretting about job cuts, which already hit the Reality Labs division and other teams. Now many more are coming.
So what’s driving the continuing, arguably accelerating series of mass terminations across tech companies? AI.”
WARNING
FIS are pushing AI usage really hard.
They will tell you it’s an amazing new tool that will revolutionise what you do.
Maybe.
But ultimately it is a tool that must pay for itself just like any other. And more than that - it’s providing corporations with an easy way to reduce resource costs.
The next time you load copilot at FIS and automate something or speed up tasks - what you are actually doing is helping FIS to eventually reduce headcount.
Everyone su-king up to AI right now needs to wake up and think about this. You are not an AI champion, you are an AI as-----n.
If you lose a trusted colleague or one day you yourself get that tap on the shoulder - you only have yourself to blame…
1400 roles cut GLOBALLY, not just PHK tech.
The other post misread the email so clarifying here. They are consolidating roles outside of phk and itc INTO PHK and ITC. This does not mean no PHK cuts, it just means that they are not necessarily going to cut all or even the majority of the 1400 roles in PHK.
so it begins from today
1400 at PHK is massive, majority in tech
Meta & Microsoft Lauoffs
It begins. More big layoffs due to AI.

Why XOM RSUs su-k compared to tech
Feeling good about the stock price? Look at tech stock returns over any period and cry. Your RSUs are pathetic compared to the wealth engine that RSUs are at tech companies.
Layoffs next month
Is it true we're the next tech company to have major layoffs? I've heard too many rumors to just ignore it.
