Can they take your pension (cash balance)
I’ve heard different rumors, but can they actually take your pension(cash balance) away from you if you’re let go because they deem you did not go to the office? I know they can’t touch your 401K.
Pennington HVAC Issues
Are they going to fix the HVAC issues or are we going to continue to suffer until the site closes? It should never be above 80 degrees or below 65 degrees in the office. What a horrible work environment!
Bring your child to work fiasco
Today we were allowed to bring our kids to the office in Lake Mary
Total fiasco, no one did.
Who would bring a kid to this he-l? Lol
It really worries me how clueless these people are.
Why come into the office just for a chat?
Just stay at home and don’t distract everyone else. Trying to concentrate is hard enough even with the whole flex desk BS. No one needs to hear a blow by blow of your personal problems. There are still people at this company that actually have deliverables.
Big brother
I am kind of in shock that there are fellow TIAAers who would go out of their way to throw a fellow colleague under the bus. I’ve been here over a decade and I do not coffee badge. I’m in for 4-5 full days because I find more peace and quiet at the office than at home when trying to get work done. But I would never tattle on a fellow colleague who is gaming the system!! We’re all adults! Maybe they have a reason, or if they don’t, that’s still none of my business! I’m actually flabbergasted. What have we become?
April = 14 days in office
22 days x .60 =13.2.
To hit 60 percent, we have to hit at least 14 days or get written up for non compliance????
Police at the greensboro office
Anyone know why the high point police are steaked out at the greensboro office? Supposed to be there til mid May?
8 Hours, What Did You Think They’d Say
Why even ask this question and upvote it, what did you think they’d say, 4 hours? The real question was are they tracking hours in order for it to count as an office day.
How's this even going to work?
Lay people off but save the square footage? Why?

Hours in office policy
Does Schwab have an official policy for minimum hours in office, or how early/late you can be in the office?
My manager mandates 9 hours in office and you cannot leave before 4PM.
The two other team managers mandate 7.5 hours with many working 7AM-2:30PM.
Moving to Dallas this summer
Totally new to the place. Which areas are you staying for good schools, decent commute. How does parking work for HQ. McKinney, Frisco and Plano are looking as good areas but don’t want to go too far out to commute.
Thoughts on HMP and RTO
Been thinking about this a lot lately. Going back to four days a week in the office with the open plan unassigned seating (HMP) has definitely brought some good energy. You run into folks from different teams, have those quick real-time conversations, and get problems solved faster than the endless email chains we had before. Its helped cut down on friction and made collaboration feel smoother.
That said, I keep noticing how our field teams run on a solid 5-day rhythm and it shows in their consistency and momentum. Maybe bringing the office side to a full 5 days could line everything up even better across the company. Wrapping the week strong with everyone in on Friday, plus the occasional half-day on Saturday when it makes sense, might give us that extra edge to stay ahead of the competition and feel more like one-team.
Chevrons culture already feels special, and pushing a bit more on the in-office side could make it even stronger. Its one of the reasons Im still optimistic about sticking around long-term.
Anyone else seeing similar things? Especially curious how the current 4-day setup is landing for field and ops folks. Are you noticing quicker decisions or better handoffs, or do you think more consistent office time would help?
Is executive leadership deaf?
New mandate from my leader, no jeans, no hats, no tshirts, and no shorts (until after a certain date).
I wasn't aware we were going to be seeing customers in the office. Oh wait we aren't. It would be different if our building wasn't falling g apart, full of mold, constantly under construction, or the air/heat not working. Let's also not forget our desks are absolute garbage and falling apart. Maybe they should give their employees working equipment and a decent setup if they expect them to look like they are ready for a board meeting, let's not even talk about the massive pay cut. They expect us to go buy new wardrobes on 40k salary when people are struggling to fund our VPs lakehouse???
Wake the fu-k up Dell leadership and stop treating your people like garbage. You at least used to PRETEND that your employees were important, OR how about this, throw us all a nice dinner since you are so intent on constantly FU--ING us.
AP and Safety restructuring at office?
Weird day Friday with leaders in various meetings. Several directors appeared upset or mad after the meetings. Any news on restructuring or layoffs at the office?
I have to be in the office for 7 more days to meet the RTO Workstyle requirement
Yet there are only five days left. Any ideas? Am I sc--wed? Has anyone hacked into the Workstyle database?
I'm so done
Anybody else feel like Verizon is just jester maxxing at this point? I mean when I used to go into the cubicles at work, I feel like I was frame mogging everybody around me. The office layout is straight up narrow maxxing at this point and it's giving micro.
Think some of the directors may need to start bone smashing pretty quick or else there cortisol levels will be spiking.
Is it 4 hours, 6 hours, or 8 hours to count as 1 day in office? So confused
So Elcio today said a minimum of 8 hours a day in office in order for it to count as being in office, no exceptions.
But also today, the guy in charge of Operations, we over 2000 people on a call said it is understandable if you have to work 6 hours in office and make up the other 2 hours at home, we understand people have life priority and can’t expect everyone to stand and watch the count to be in at exactly 8 hours a day to count as in office when you have an emergency or have to pick up kids or elderly parents.
So many mixed messages.
I asked my manager is it 4 hours a day, 6 hours, or 8 hours minimum in office and he said he doesn’t know what counts, he has never been told. And he said he doesn’t care as long as I do my work since I sit by myself and the rest of the team is in OH, AZ, and MN.
So what is minimum?
I might've had 5 face to face meetings since RTO began. Everything else is on Teams.
Just saying.
The whole thing makes no sense.
Why come in at all.
Does HR Track Hours or Just Badge In/Out for In-Office Days?
Our company requires 3 days in office, but at my location, I’ve noticed some people come in, stay around 3 hours, and then leave after lunch. Does HR actually track the hours spent on-site—like is there a minimum of 6 hours or something? We have to badge in and out, so I assume they have data on how long people stay. Anyone in HR or someone who’s talked to them know how they track this? How many hours typically count as a full day? Or do they just count it as a day if you badge in and out, no matter how long?
Moving Day
Today is the day that many folks in SP1 are moving offices. What is the intent of the office building reshuffles? Will space be sublet out or is this just to free up space for future growth?
How long am I allowed to stay in office for it to not be considered ‘coffee badging’?
After seeing so may posts on here about for people getting fired for coffee badging now I’m confused. I understand people who would only swipe their badge and turnaround immediately, but si don’t get why people who stay here for 6 hours would be considered coffee badging. I try to stay at least 6 hours at the office when I go in, but sometimes I like to spend only the mornings there and come back during lunch. If I do this wouldn’t get fired?
Cypress CA Office For Lease
3 floors in the Cypress CA location are up for lease. Not good.
When is someone going to file a complaint about open floor plan?
Having not one second of privacy is bad for women:
While wearing a skirt or dress you have to constantly be aware of how you are sitting.
No privacy when standing up and adjusting your clothes. Pull and adjust in front of everyone.
With open floor plan someone can stare at you all day and there’s nothing you can do, if you even notice. T has nasty twerps working there just like any other place.
I’ve seen men standing just outside of my view then averting their eyes and walking away when I turned my head.
The stress of always being on display is getting to be too much.
To scratch anywhere everyone has to walk to a conference room or the restroom.
We need at least the mini cubicles for a bit of respect for our humanity.
Mailing address question
Hi there, former employee for about 8 years. I got laid off last year.
This might sound random but I want to send a former coworker a present, and I don’t have his home address. If I sent it to the RR1 office with his name, would it make it to him that way?
AC down again
AC not working in Burlington everyone is complaining, its so miserable. We're all jammed into these smaller rooms I'm sure all the body heat is not helping. How about let us leave an hr early instead of having this 1 hr social hr!!! The A side is working of course because no one is working over there.
6 days is 12 days if you leave computer over weekend
People at my area, secure, with same people , picking same desk are now coming in Friday. Leave computer on over weekends, come in early Monday.
The 2 days on weekends count
Brilliant system by USBank
Earth day eh? They encourage people to to leave laptop on all day and drive to work
Who is actually working from office 8/9-5?
I'm not going to waste time going on and on about the same things but who is actually going in to work at 8/9 and staying till 5pm? Obviously RTO 5 days means working from the office all 5 days but there's no way in he-l the majority is willingly going to go from WFH to now commuting to an office just to sit there for 8 hours.
Ripped from the headlines at FIS
This is a true story. Had been working through an issue with the help of the TPO. As it was almost wrapped up, about ten weeks later, I reached back out via email to the person who had assisted. As the email was being typed, the Out of Office message caught my eye. It said, Hello, I am unavailable to answer your email because I no longer work for FIS as of (their layoff date here). Please contact (email point) for further assistance. Great work. Bob, nicely done. Did you make that person write their OOO message or did someone have to go along and add to everyone whose career you ended?
So is the next round really going to be 10% across the board?
I've seen it mentioned here, and the same rumor has been going around the office.
Working out of the branches
With the new RTO tracking being through IP and not swipes, has anyone heard anything about if changing location from hub to branch would be an option? The excuse used to be that it couldn’t be tracked.
90% of the office is full today
Sorry lads
Assigned seats
So I’m guessing the bank went back to assigned seating? I’ve been out on sabbatical and just returned to our new space, but all of the seats appear to be assigned and I have no idea where I should randomly sit.
It doesn’t feel good to start my day like this every morning, trying to search for a place to sit that isn’t near the break room. But I’m told all the other spaces are neighborhoods. I can’t continue to take calls from a desk next to the break room so people keep asking me to go on mute because I hear all the noise, but then I have to forget to go off mute to start talking and lose my opportunities to speak up. This is ridiculous.
Those teams sitting in a neighborhood who are not on the phone all day. Need to have their dedicated seating over here. I don’t know how they got away with giving them the prime seats.. but I can’t continue working like this and I will be figuring out a way to work from home if this continues.

you mo--ns need to start flushing the godda-n toilet
people at the nyc office really need to learn how to flush the toilet...
WFH for IT
Are people really in the office 5 days a week or is there flexibility/WFH allowed?
9 hour in office requirement?
What’s up with word floating around that the in office requirement is being updated to 9 hours for the day to count?
NJ offices how long before we all forced to relocate?
So it seems somewhat apparent that the writing is on the wall , RE is pricey in NJ (Northeaast) , and with little innovation coming out of NJ how long before execs order everyone to GA or TX , anyone have any credible info. With everyone consolidating into one building in Middletown and the recent more to a different facility in Bedminister, it seems like just arranging the deck chairs...
I currently work at Oracle Pleasanton office. I previously worked at the Santa Clara office. I am glad to have gotten out of there.
At the Pleasanton office. Every day I am surrounded by self-entitled D-Bags. These people really think they are better than everyone and look down at you. There are also many D-Bags at the Santa Clara office too. Hopefully with continued lay-offs at Pleasanton and Santa Clara Oracle gets rid of more of the D-Bags.
Free tea and coffee?
My hub doesn’t have coffee pods or tea bags, nothing. Bring your own coffee, tea bags, and bottled water.
‘So cheap
Is this just my hub or bank policy to not even offer free coffee pods and tea bag…not even water other than from the sink
