Seeing multiple leads and SMEs leave with no back fills posted. 2 Directors in IT already leaving in the next week. Nothing posted so no competitive chance for a promotion for someone in their team. Implosion

Are these guys tone deaf??? They just sent an email with USBank India and how this new guy they hired will make USBank India great again.

So those of us on Operations are all going to to lose 0ur job to USBank India and they send this email out about how great this new guy is shipping all jobs to India and Philippine

Got notified but why I have to work until 7/1??? Makes no sense

if we are laid off this year, between now and December, does anyone know if we will get our bonus next year?

Never thought I would think so negatively about Centene because my experience over the past 4 years has been awesome. I missed the VSP cutoff by 2 days due to my official FTE conversion date, but I don’t think I would have applied anyways.

Curious though, if laid off September 1st, what are typical (non-VSP) severance packages like at Centene?

Has anyone heard whether Meridian (a subsidiary of Centene) will be affected by VSP or future layoffs? I'm relatively new and I heard a rumor here in Michigan that we are canned!

Now let's figure out how this is ok.
I looked over the VSP, not in detail so I might have missed some things, however, these are my questions:

what happens to your sick/accrued PTO? Did not notice any mention of this.

lets say that you do not "apply" for VSP, why arent they mentioning what the severance will be if they pick you to be layed off in August or perhaps the second round of layoffs which i suspect will be later on once they get their bearings after the first layoff.

Now lets say you "apply" for VSP, but they decline, only to later lay you off in August (as their numbers haven't been met). Doesnt seem very ethical as now they dont have to give you the additional benefit of VSP and terminate you with just the basic severance. That seems a bit shady, as this could be one of the methods to let people go and have less cost as they will not provide the additional benefit that you originally applied for.

I know that all states are different, however I think it would be nice if they looked into it and included into individualized offers the information on our ability/inability to file for unemployment.

Seems to me that this entire situation and the way it is handled is only to benefit Centene with absolutely no regard for thousands of people who have gone above and beyond in their jobs. I know that this is the state of the current corporate world, but there must be something that can be done to stand up to these bullies. I wonder if the legal department has anyone who also got the VSP and might have some ideas :)

Like all of you, I have been anxiously evaluating my options. For ME personally, my VSP was pretty mid, but I'm early in my career... walking away from a good job and title with a little bit of cash isnt that bad. my big worry is that they boot me earlier than September 1... not a fan that the VSP numbers may "vary." We have no leverage in this bargain other than to stay to make it more difficult during restructuring. The risk of lay off is scary... a few departments have already restructured in the past two years, so its hard to imagine they will even accept my application... Not sure how to feel about the paranoia associated with applying and being added to some "list." If anything I think this is an attempt to shed as many high earners and potentially replace at lower salaries? Idk... I hope everyone is ok lol

I am torn between accepting VSP or not accepting. My thought is if I don’t accept I will be sc--wed eventually- if not with this round with upcoming rounds. At least with this I won’t be leaving with nothing. But then I don’t want to start over again. I am getting old. Then on the other hand if I am not one of the ones that will be laid off, the work load will be horrible. It is already bad enough and stressful as it is. The outlook of Obamacare is not looking real great from what I can tell so the likelihood of this being ongoing is high in my opinion. I just wish I knew what to do. And having to wait until July 15 to “find out your fate” basically does not help. Am I the only one that thinks this way?

I just had my 6 month anniversary on Monday so obviously I am not eligible for the VSP. I am thinking there is a good chance I will be laid off by September 1st? Do you think that is how it will go?

My boss made every single day miserable. I'd take the income hit over dealing with his leadership any day.

I can't get interviews for roles that match my experience, so I've been applying for entry level jobs just to get some money coming in, since severance is melting away. Each one of them said I'm overqualified and would leave too fast. So what am I supposed to do?

For those promised a severance package towards the end of 2027, are you considering leaving/retiring before the end of this year? Just to escape Polaris, workplace toxicity and overall dysfunction the company is sinking into further each day ?
Despite the promised payout, does your sanity seem like too high a price to pay in order to receive the severance/settlement ?
(Also, what if they keep moving the end date later than year end 2027??)

My old company used PIPs when it wanted to get rid of people without paying them severance. It's always possible to find something, anything to justify it. The way things have been going here, I'm starting to worry the same thing will happen. Am I wrong?

Any one know specifically what departments are being considered? I was laid off during the UnitedHealthcare layoffs back in September of 2024. Centene hired me after a long 7 month search and now I can’t believe im having to go through this again! i I thought centene was going to be my long term after such a devastating time and now this.

Does anyone know who would be laid off from this restructuring the company is going to go through?

Idk why no one read or listened to the “London Calling” episode…. VSP offers expire 7/1. They’ll base the number of the layoff based on how many people took VSP’s. Everyone who is gonna be laid off will be notified by the beginning of August. Emails with offers are going to most everyone, you’ll get an email at some point today. It’s in waves. If you’re already having a foot out the door, take the offer and ready to move on from Centene, take the offer.

I got my VSP offer this morning and am considering it. I'm trying to figure out what I would get if I don't accept it, and get laid off instead. Does anyone know what the typical severance is during these rounds of layoffs? I'd like to compare it to my VSP offer.
