Severance is very good

It's not surprising that my colleagues don't put in much effort to at least try to keep their jobs - the severance pay is very good! In fact, I think that some of them might be even deliberately slacking off in order to get laid off!?

Class Action filed for eligibility rules

Not sure it will go anywhere but interesting that a federal class action was filed for how we split up our eligibility. Claiming it’s not fair to charge higher rates for lower paid ranks.

Selling the Bank

I would be interested in hearing from everyone about this. Let's say they sell the bank - still not everyone who works in bank risk management (i.e. AML) is automatically fired. For example JP Morgan who just bought a bank fired 1000 but kept 7000... — read more

WARN Notice

USAA filed a WARN notice for the layoffs on May 16th but did not file a notice for any of the layoffs in 2022 or before May 2023—any idea why this most recent layoff required a notice?

2023 layoffs

With the news of the huge bank reorg last week, and the bank DPM’s being let go. With the upcoming June layoffs fast approaching (sad we have to find out on this site before the company says anything), I think most bank areas will be safe from that... — read more

It's just smoke and mirrors

How anyone is still proud of working here, I don’t know. Some of us waited for years to get an interview and hired only to find that what we thought was THE best employer to work for actually is just smoke and mirrors. I equate this to buying a car... — read more

For people who left, what motivated you to leave?

Joined early in my career, but not a fan of the leadership and RTO. Problem is, I’ve only ever worked at USAA my entire life, and am worried about being technically able to go through external interviews. I hate going into my job and there’s no... — read more

I want to sue

Is there a way to sue the company for what was said during the hiring process and then changed to the opposite within months of being hired? I left a decent remote job to start working here thinking I would remain remote. I know the answer is... — read more

A Message from Mr. Weacock

There’s nothing ethical about USAA

And USAA recently won an award for one of the most “ethical” companies. What a crock! The way this place operates raises ethical questions at minimum. The company bold face lies about everything they say and do. They are deceptive, not transparent... — read more

Feeling nostalgic

I don't want to stay here anymore because this has become a joke of a company, but at the same time I'm quite nostalgic because it used to be really nice to work here. Do you remember the golden days? I'm trying to figure out how and when it all... — read more

Indifference to job

There is a life outside of this company. I am fully aware of that, however, until I manage to get a new job, I'm still trying to do my best and keep this job until I get a better offer… On the other hand, I get the impression that there are very... — read more

USAA RTO Participation Trophy

Make sure to pick one up as you walk in the door on September 5th. Don't expect things like free breakfast tacos or a concert from OneReplublic. Those fringe benefits are in the distant past. But you can happily display your beautiful USAA RTO... — read more

Not Russia

I get it. RTO stinks. Management stinks. The coffee stinks. But, you all realize that this is not Russia—you can leave at any time. If you feel that strong, leave. That will speak louder than some website post or quitting a slack channel or wearing... — read more

Leadership is causing chaos and lower productivity

Due to the forced RTO, we’re dealing with chaos and reduced productivity. Between turnover, not backfilling roles, interim directors, we’re being stretched too thin and the quality is really is starting to suffer. The environment leadership has... — read more

Follow The Example Of Wayne

If anyone is angry about the new RTO policy, my advice would be to follow the example set by Wayne. Wayne wants to send his underlings out to preach culture, them let's follow Wayne's example as a leader. Wayne took a 157% pay increase over the ONLY... — read more

Bed Bugs in Home Office

Yes I’m sure, I talked to a pest control guy who I asked what pesticide he was spreading around on peoples desks while they were gone. Do we not have a right to know what poison we might be in contact with? We’re being RTO’d in to a bed bug... — read more

Making us re-apply for our jobs?

Has anyone heard about this? Possible strategy of re-categorizing existing jobs as hybrid, requesting people currently in those jobs to re-apply, and thus forcing relocation or exit?

Plan for Remote workers

One comment says 90% of remote workers will be gone in three months. Is this true? What's the word on the street?

Leave Waynes-World Slack channel

This is the first step in letting Wayne know he no longer has a grip on us. Much like the calls to boycott Town halls; nothing would irk this narcissist like seeing the number of employees joined to his special it's all about me channel...dropping by... — read more

Dismal market

If the market was better, I'm afraid there wouldn't be any good workers left here at all!? This company should feel lucky that the situation on the market is so tough.

I don't mind being fired over this

I've said it before and I'll say it again, RTO that goes above two to three days a week maximum is a deal breaker for me. I have no intention of going back to the office for more than that ever again. I don't even care if that's exactly the plan here... — read more

Reporting to Managers - Number of Hours In Office

It just doesn't stop. Now managers will start getting reports on the times you badge in and out and you will be penalized if you are not in the office 8 hours a day. Don't try to skip out early and beat the traffic. I wonder if our remote... — read more

ECIO Townhall Trainwreck

" Very thoughful questions " which we are not really going to answer. We will continue to be as vague and distant as we can be while making you believe that we care one bit about a single one of you, your exceptions, or concerns.

Wayne and the EC are snakes

Every single thing they tell you is laced with subtext, doublespeak, or blatant lies. They talk about going green, yet force every employee within 60 miles to put out needless carbon emissions so those same employees can sit on the same Zoom calls... — read more

Wasteful Spending At USAA

No one should be shocked by the mismanagement you are currently witnessing at the highest levels at USAA. The $4.6B revenue swing from 2021 to 2022 is a colossal failure on top of the company losing $13B in net worth. That loss in net worth is... — read more
