Layoffs in India and Pakistan

A lot of people in India and Pakistan who were not billable or working on internal non revenue generating projects were let go. This ship is sinking fast.

“Winner’s Circle” - really?

Teradata having a celebration event is like the Colorado Rockies celebrating their star players. And flying them to Rome? Shows how out of touch and privileged the ELT is. I guess there is an award for who’s revenue shrunk the least.

Finally!

That embarrassment of a CMO is gone and off the website. I imagine Marketing types globally are dancing in the streets.

So unprofessional

Managers here don’t manage anything. My boss doesn’t even know my name, doesn’t train me, and doesn’t care. I ask for help and get ignored. What’s the point? I’m young, not stupid. This isn’t how you run a business. I already have two interviews... — read more

lake offering and its architects

Lake is what ultimately led to the company’s downfall. Six years of investment driven by HA, TM, and DS yielded no revenue. It’s disheartening to see Teradata—once the undisputed leader in data warehousing—reduced to this.

CxO shake out

Shake out CxO, re org here and there to distraction from core issues, bring buddies from previous companies . Same pattern everywhere and every time

If you've been laid off...

It's ok to feel bad. Despite what some ungrateful individuals might say on here, it's never a joyous occasion to find yourself out of a job. Best of luck on your job search.

How do you survive the RIF

In sales it's all self evident really. Look around you, you will see people that have survived the RIF action YOY. Survival is not always down their capability...it's about several things and they have got it down to an art. Firstly, make sure you... — read more

Time to reflect...but will they?

As the inevitable looms for many at TD across the globe, will those fortunate sales people who have avoided the cull year on year self reflect and acknowledge they could have and should have done more. I see from a recent post, Sales were... — read more

Deep regrets

Good luck, TD. But I fear it's too late now. When I worked there years ago, I remember the CTO — in his Hawaiian shirt — confidently denying the relevance of Cloud technology, while senior Solution Architects nodded along like it was gospel. I felt... — read more

Large scale layoffs this month and next

Tools down guys, first round June and second round July. AEs with no pipeline, overlays and underperforming BUs are gone first then marketing. Deeper cuts in July. Reliable senior source. Stop working now and get your CV out. The ELT has gone too... — read more

There comes a point when you just stop caring

I’ve worked myself into the ground trying to prove I’m enough, and for what? To be ignored while others coast by on favoritism? I’m done chasing approval from people who never intended to give it. From now on, let them complain. I won’t be bending... — read more

Toxic company with constant layoffs

The environment is so toxic these days, we can’t get anything done because so many people have been let go. I personally have IT tickets pending for 3 months. God help you if you need to find an SE to help spec a sale. No leads from marketing. Every... — read more

Is this platform about free speech?

I posted an honest view of the challenges at TD yesterday and within several hours it was removed. A company fails not purely on strategy but also the incompetence of those charged with the responsibility of driving success through growth. When... — read more

A company in real trouble

I worked for Teradata for a number of years, was there for the VL & OR era. I was part of the rif end of last year. There is a lot of disgust with the ELT on this board. The blame starts and ends with the BOD. They hired and continue to support these... — read more

While Teradata circles the drain

Microsoft shares jump on earnings, revenue beat as Azure cloud business grows 33%. Huge market and TD sinks. Management is a disgrace.

The culture is horrible at Teradata

Management rule with fear, constantly blaming others for their shortcomings. This is not the fault of the managers, it’s the fear of loosing their job. Layoff after layoff after layoff. We must be below 5,000 people from 10,000 a few years ago. ”I’ve... — read more
