Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

How is engineering doing?

Seems that there's a lot of happy engineers here, are y'all actually happy? Or is there a troll here

Several good people still remain at Teradata...but...too bad the Teradata tools and technologies are not top notch as evidenced by the customers would not be leaving in droves.

@bd what have I said that you would consider to be nonsense?

@OP the engineering culture here is excellent, I'm a cloud engineer here and there are a ton of excellent tools and technologies we use at TD. The engineering practices are top notch

I'm a software engineer out of San Diego supporting BCM, and I like it here. The codebase is old but I like the team and there are still good practices and the work life balance is generally good. Good place to work but I won't go and ignore the RIFs there have been lots of people cut but some teams like BCM have been proven to have more security.

Teradata has engineers? What are they engineering? How to efficiently kiss Steve’s a-s?

Nope! There's only one happy engineer here: we call him "super-engineer". You'll often see him here, kissing the ELT's a-s. He signs his nonsense with "IHeartVantage".
