Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Happy holidays everyone!

I just want to take a moment to everyone here for helping to make Teradata what it is, the culture here is special because of everyone here. The work we do truly does make a difference and we're the go to data warehousing solution in the market and I'm grateful to everyone here. I wish you all a happy holidays and hope you guys can spend some time relaxing with your families ready to return to the office refreshed!

The culture su-ks. We have a stupid manager who flies everywhere whilst telling his staff that they can't travel. He hardly meets customers and when he does he dictates to them thinking that is the only way they listen. This place is poison so it's no wonder we fail to attract good staff.

Jr OP, can you comment on your performance, please. Your self reflection will be invaluable to any employer how to not hire and every employee how to move on after a separation for cause.

@jr You are really unbelievable - I bet your peers love you. If performance played a role in determining if an employee stays or goes then they should start with the ELT as that would keep them busy for a while...but they just continue to milk the dying cow. If you brought anything to the table then maybe the 'boogeyman' would not be in the shape it's in.

@e3 can you tell me why you were let go of? Any comments on your performance from your peers or managers? It's easy to point a finger at Teradata and pretend its the boogeyman but have you reflected on your own performance and thought about what you brought to the table.

@cq I’m afraid Teradata is becoming Kinko’s; you’ve heard of them but have no idea if they’re still in business.

Well...I've been laid off for a while now, but I feel the need to come here from time to time (I don't know why; I must be a masochist), and I can see that super-engineer is still here, spouting his nonsense and kissing a$$. Good luck with him...

The blind confidence OP/Super engineer have in TD is unbelievable. What have you seen at this company that makes you so positive? The longer I'm here the more horrified I become

I too want to take a moment to give OP a stern finger for making Teradata what it is, a *h1thole run by id1ot from near and distant places. Culture here is toxic because of people like OP, left here without any choice or interest in life. The work we do truly does not make any difference and we're the data warehousing solution in rear view mirror in the market and I'm pi---d like everyone here. Still, I wish OP Merry Christmas and happy new year and hope you can spend some time with your fake sense of urgency and disgust to return to the office as you wait for the great opportunity to sign your resignation.
