How's that pink Kool-Aid tasting

Ya'll lapped up the pink Kool-Aid like it was champagne. Ya'll believed Legere when he said TMO would "be job-positive from Day 1" after they gobbled up Sprint. Truth is they started laying off on Day 1.

Mmmm, that pink Kool-Aid seems to be going sour. But, go on to the next all hands meeting and rah rah.

Planning and design all hands

During the all hands meeting we had the other day the VPs were saying they were looking to change current employee roles to, essentially, lower level roles. They’re basically giving out demotions but saying they’re good opportunities for growth.

They’ve already started doing this by forcing engineers and coordinators into drafting OSP designs.

Sadly not many people are complaining or raising concerns, and an oddly large amount of people are “excited” to provide “value” to the company.

My takeaways from Dan’s monologue… you don’t have to be in NJ to get promoted and more

Being one minute late to a meeting is “disrespectful,” apparently. But him slurping coffee into the mic like he’s doing a Folgers ASMR? That’s “leadership excellence,” I guess.

He swears email is a letter because, his words, not mine - he’s “old.” And he responds to every single one of those letters with pride… but Slack? Oh no. That’s where he draws the line. Technology has gone too far.

And when the layoffs, sorry, the “carnage” are finally done, he says those of us who remain will be… delighted. Yes, delighted. Because nothing screams delight like survivor’s guilt and three people doing the work of twelve.

If you missed the all-hands, don’t waste your time watching the replay.

He said ALL of this in 33 minutes… a meeting that absolutely could’ve been an email.

Thoughts on All Employee Webcast

  • it’s unacceptable to start a meeting at 10:31 instead of 10:30 but runs over in current meeting
  • talks about silos and every single thing in this company is siloed
  • culture is at its worst because Sam Hammock- get rid of her
  • customer service is bad across all companies- it’s literally the most simple answer- stop putting non English speakers in customer service roles
  • about time we do away with not hiring / promoting outside of NJ or TX - but will we hold HR accountable for putting that new policy in place
  • I do agreed with what he said about us not winning and doing poorly but in all honestly, it’s leaderships fault for where we are. When will leadership be held accountable?

Someone pinch us - IS THIS DAN FOR REAL? Making jokes in the ALL Hands?

Dan telling jokes and stxpid stories - in the ALL hands - while we are all freaking out of the future and so many lives being impacted. This is so unwelcomed.

Dude - you as a board were s failure - VZ leaders are just clowns - following the board and now you keep a while company to do a seinfeld sequel clown show 🤬

Unfiltered confirmed to be a useless checkbox

Today's all hands confirm one more time that the Unfiltered survey is only s checkbox to say to employees: provide your feedback, we receive it but we do not care about it.
They spent maybe 2 minutes on today's all hands on the topic...+40% of employees not trusting the board are not enough to worry the board. An email saying they are going thoroughly through the feedback and take actions is all what they do... truly a sad and shameless joke!

All Hands

The all hands on Monday were being nothing burgers. They did not say anything new. They sent an email with the changes then schedule an all hands over a week later to say the same thing? This is why VZ fails. Redundant and inefficient. Bet Friday’s call will be the same. It’s evident that things will not change. Dan the hatchet man is that, the hatchet man and will sadly pass it off to Scampath who will continue to tank the company. Leave while you can. VZ will not survive this 13k RIF. Culture, morale is dead there’s no coming back from losing trust in your people.

FIS/GP/TSYS = Huge Dumpster Fire

As a TSYS Issuer TM I was very excited when I heard we were getting AWAY from GP and joining forces with a company I thought MAY know how to do us better. I figured it definitely couldn't get any worse than being treated like the ugly stepchild like GP has done us. With that being said I'm losing confidence daily and at this point just hope I have a job in this cr-ppy market. I'm sorry and I hate that you all have been going through all the same cr-p that we have (McKinsey) recently. Just to add a little icing on the cake your CEO and Chief People Officer joined our Issuer All Hands this morning and we're about as happy and excited as anyone could be. Hard to imagine they could be so happy at the exact same time their TM's were being fired via Google Meets. Really makes me feel warm and fuzzy about joining the team! Not an ounce of regret or remorse in either of their voices. 🤬

Big Employee Meeting This Week

There is a big employee meeting this week. Will the CEO be fully transparent and answer a lot of the tough and fair questions many of you posted on here. The CEO seems to be doubling down on keeping the BOD intact with no changes, keeping field sales leadership who have not lead and are reactionary and don't provide inspiring forward looking leadership and employee support, and head of Boca operations who is focused on the wrong priorities and on their pet side projects instead. The CEO is doubling down on all of this and net outflows are on pace to match last year. Leadership said the bleeding was done last year. Well that hasn't happened. That is why this meeting is so important. For the CFO, it is no laughing matter.

Strategic Brilliance: Switching Platforms Until Morale Improves

The only thing more consistent than their quarterly all hands metings is their biannual migration between Teams and Zoom.

Every six months, executives, fresh off a “strategy retreat” involving buzzwords, golf carts, and a suspicious amount of Sodabi, decide that this time, the other platform is the holy grail of productivity. Cue the chaos: a month of re-training, a month of muttering, and four months of pretending it was genius. Historical recordings? Gone. Lost to the void, sacrificed at the altar of “thriving family”.

But don't worry, leadership assures everyone: next time, they'll get it right.

When Corporate Theater Falls Apart

one thing i realy miss from my time in the corporate world… is watching that one employe that no longer care ask a real qusetion at an all hands / townhall…

They’re gonna open up talking about how well the company is doing, using a lot of the nonsense corporate jargon. shout out to soulless chatter. But then at the end they’re gonna turn it over to q&A. that’s what the whole thing is supposed to be about you / get to interact with the higher-ups, cause they don’t let middle to low level peeps talk at this. they don’t trust them to get it done.

and what was so disgusting to watch about these is all the questions were clearly planted. It was always hey, I’ve been here 7 years I love the new products blah blah new services, like what other new exciting things do you have, and what challenges do you see. you know, it’s just always just really disgusting talk.

But one in a while like once every three years there’d be someone crazy dude or girl who knew they didn’t care to work there anymore, and they’d be like hey, so like why have quotas has been so high and why doesn’t this or that thing work, in this system we’ve been telling you it doesn’t work for eons. and then I would get really excited and start to love the townhall…

the first thing I would do is look at their immediate mgr cause they’re sweating that they can’t believe this is happening.

and the reason I say someone had to no longer care to talk like this is once you spoke like this you were probably gonna get fired, two to three months after you said something like this. shout out to HR, never having anyone’s back. i know, HR reps will get mad at me. i got friends in hr and we say things like this, but at the end of the day, anytime you send an email to a higher-up or spoke out like this you were gonna get fired for some mysterious reason, or something everyone else was doing…

and when you hear an hr person defend what they do, it sounds just like Congress. Just like Congress is like, I’m here to represent the American people, I wanna get the American people back to work. if you listen to HR it’s the same thing. they’re like we’re here to provide resources and you know blah blah blah for the you know, average person at the company. at the end of the day they just don’t.

and the reason I think Congress is a good comparison is i think a lot of people who go into HR, they go in with pure intentions, a good heart like I wanna help people and then they get in and they’re like okay, you actually, our job is to make sure the share price go up and the regulations don’t get passed against the co.
