Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Goodbye VZB in EMEA

Guys… those rumors everyone’s been whispering about? They’re actually happening. Tomorrow there’s an emergency all-hands at 10 UK time where they’re dropping the news on how the reorg is smashing EMEA. Brace yourselves.

@kk as far as I'm aware there was no specific call related to the UK.

All of EMEA (except Ireland) we're on the call, we're informed to wait for the process to start in each country.

Beyond the "cat is out of the bag", it was word for word the same as the email that people in EMEA then received.

@eb it was the legal requirement. That’s it. All EMEA employees are now notified.

@a6 Ireland is not in the UK. Educate yourself. All the work from the UK is coming to Ireland. They just invested heavy in Ireland. even the likes of Eli lilly announced another 150 million in Limerick this week, Whoop invested heavy in Limerick two weeks ago and Verizon are going to do the same even apple invested heavy two weeks ago in Dublin again. Ireland is the place to be BABY!

@a6 why would they do that, it's massive tax efficient to buy for the US through a tax haven and they decimated the US based teams that used to do it over the last 10yrs
