Got laid off

Well guys, I didn’t make it through this layoff. Went home Friday like I was going back to work Monday. Now here’s the funny sad thing. On Saturday I took a post gym nap ONLY to wake up to a VOICEMAIL. Really? You could’ve have just told me Friday... — read more

All I know is....

I got the dreaded phone call with my manager and ER, I mean HR early Friday Morning. I don't expect to return. Filed for unemployment and updated resume, and searched for a few jobs on the Texas Workforce commission site. I let a few others know and... — read more

So about Monday...

As for the people who didn’t get the call, does anyone know if that is all of the people they had on the list or are they going to start again Monday? I have heard from some that it’s done and then some that it’s going to continue on Monday with... — read more

Gulfstream Problems

I’ve asked so many people, (peasants, leads, STM) and still nothing. Like it’s not a real problem in today’s technology because no one has built it, but can a G250 take off if the speed matched the speed of a treadmill?

PB/Vac

How do they handle pb/vac? I have seen claims on this website that they have tried to not give you your pb since you were not sick? Any truth to those claims?

garbage

they make them work during pandemic since they're classified as "essential".. gives them masks a month after employees became positive for the rona (which they tried to hide as much as they can) then fires a whole lot. really greedy

2 month bonus?

Are they offering the two month bonus to the company policy severance package this time around like they did back in October?

Let's Be Honest

The only reason Savannah is somewhat successful is because there isn't any other aviation competition to take talent. Plus Gulfstream does pay good, so people get trapped working for dumb managers and failing dept bc they need it financially. GD... — read more

Survival Requires Technology

It really seems there's been a devaluation of engineering and technology in general from senior leadership for several years now. No doubt that engineering was bloated and needed to be reorganized/leaned out, so some good moves were made in the... — read more

Gulfstream is been gutted so GD can sell

Why all the layoffs? GD is gutting Gulfstream to sell. Gulfstream isn't do well and with world economy down it going to be difficult to sell aircrafts. Companies around the world lost a lot of money during the Covid 19. GD is look out for its profit... — read more

3192 headcount in the end, 18%, not done

FYI, that's the approx number, from a numbers guy. Every single dept was affected, was a matrix to avoid bias. Anyone who says their dept wasn't affected is lying. Matrix of seniority weighed with function duplication and business impact. It came... — read more

Heard about all contractors, but any blue badge?

From what I heard, this is only a lay off for contract employees only. Of course the blue badge I heard it from got the boot almost immediately after. Anyone know what departments they are hitting hard or who’s next? Right now no news for me, but... — read more

Laid off - need contracting advice

How much are they being paid!!!

Anti union consulting firms demand a high price. Gulfstream realizes they’re have a lot to lose. They love the south because they think we are a bunch of stupid southerners who are divided by race. That era has long been over but we still fall for... — read more

I have never been pro-union... until now.

What other source of leverage do we have? Look at the tenure of the purged. Gulfstream has no respect or consideration for the contributions made by these individuals. Viable and pertinent guidance has been abandoned for the sake of corporate greed... — read more

2 weeks laid off; maybe permanent May 15th?

Anyone else having to go through this? They cut off my devices as "stolen" so I'm pretty sure I'll be laid off on the 15th. That's their way to buy themselves time to get severance packages together while I get unemployment.

Management bonus protection program.

Ah yes, another RIF to protect managements fat bonus. I’m certain they also get great pleasure out of seeing us fear for our jobs. I’ve got a mortgage and three kids in college right now. Doesn’t matter to them as long as they cut enough to keep... — read more

Sketchy

They are LEGITIMATELY trying to cover up how innacurate the temperature readings are. We are gonna see waves of people getting sick at Gulfstream with how they are reacting to this. Is there nothing we can do?
