I was part of a layoff before GAC bought out Jet Aviation and I was part of this one. Just cant win. I got canned so they could keep around a guy who leaves during his shift to go home and handle personal business all while on the clock, and leave people like myself to pick up the slack but thats ok cause he kisses a**. Absolute joke. On to the next I guess.

Whole Las Vegas facility shut down permanently. 80plus people let go.
WARN act requires 60 days notice or 60 days pay. And that’s not notice if a layoff. That’s telling you directly you will be laid off in 60 days. By all indications they went well above the 500 needed to trip the WARN act alarm. There are 2 exceptions to WARN act that are interesting here. From what little research I’ve done COVID-19 doesn’t appear applicable to the “natural disaster” exemption based on past court interpretations. The other exemption is the “unforeseeable business circumstances” one. That might make it interesting and I won’t speculate if applies here. My guess is this 2 week furlough before the actual layoff is for them to figure that question out before revealing severance packages.
sounds to me like Gulfstream in the last 6 years has cleaned house with older and very tenured employees cause they make to much , US Govmt should start investigating this as there are suppose to be laws against getting rid of your seniors , Hard to believe they can maintain Govmt contracts and rif off the employees that worked there way up only to get thrown out whe they make to much. Back in 2001 Eddie Cosper and a group of layed off employees got together and filed labor law suits and won, Settled out of court, Maybe that would get GDs attention again, Gulfstream makes you sign severance paperwork to prevent from suing them cause they know they have you over a barrow holding your severance package from you, That should also be investigated.
I see others posting about how GAC tripped the WARN act. Doesn’t the act still apply even in situations such as these? GAC St. Louis was only given 24 hrs notice.
Yes I agree and I feel your pain. I'm the only one who cares to do things in accordance with our own Gulfstream documentation, and the others wanted to be lazy and keep doing things the old way from years ago. Now I'm canned bc I didn't kiss butt to my boss or go visit his house enough. What a joke. I hope my dept fails.
I was part of Jet Aviation and now GAC. Saw the hypocrisy and cliques. If you didn’t kiss a*, or be a yes man You were pretty much shunned. I agree with the others on here about how GAC kept all the bullsht leader and yes, they destroyed another company. I got the call and no remorse from HR or my supervisor. I was always a valued team member for years but it got me no where when the transition took place. I saw so much good talent leave because of upper level management. Such a shame.
Dallas was hit pretty good on service. I'm nervous for monday..
What about The Dallas Product Support and Completions centers Any news on hard they were hit? I was one of the October layoffs
I count 32 at ATW. Supposedly all done now. Some good and talented some should never been hired.
Definitely seemed like most highly compensated/high in pay grade got let go last October.
I haven’t heard about Savannah completions but I know they recently hired a bunch of contractors
Any impact on SAV completions ?
33 in westfield
Brunswick getting hit hard mainly 550 completions even though we were doing a great job thanks GS management another great business decision!
I lost my job. Twenty years. Supposed to retire in five more. Not now.
That s—s really f—ing hard....and it's only the weekend crew right now....monday isnt gonna be good
I was at the St. Louis location on the stab program. I wasnt there a long time but the biggest problem with this location is they brought the same failed managers from Jet over to GAC and its the same ones that ran that place into the ground. Very cliquish community there and if you arent part of that crowd you might as well look for another job. I loved doing what I was doing. Very happy to work on that program and did a lot for them. I was a tech 1 who had Savannah OJT people telling my bosses I was under rated yet it went unheard and I got excuse after excuse as to why I didnt deserve to move up.
LGB got close to 50 I heard. A lot of high timers were let go again.
Which location? Hearing 25 plus in appleton right now got canned
