3192 headcount in the end, 18%, not done

FYI, that's the approx number, from a numbers guy. Every single dept was affected, was a matrix to avoid bias. Anyone who says their dept wasn't affected is lying. Matrix of seniority weighed with function duplication and business impact. It came down to ability to render sustainability based on least tenure.and subtracting known performance issues. Basically, who provides the same asset with least tenure and best performance score. These are trying times–by basing it on this matrix, avoids bias of all categories. Was numbers.

3192 not even close. That numbers guy must not know how to basic math.

While on unpaid layoff status as the previous poster indicated our benefits remain in effect, if your status does not change then we are laid off and terminated at which point our benefits coverage remain in effect until the end of May, at which point we are offered Cobra coverage in accordance with what our severance period is. I wasn’t happy with the call or the decision but I was listening.

We lost a lot of new employees, myself included. I figured it was due to the savings on severance packages.

I am aware that during the last layoff, GAC used "PowerBI", to analyze quickly people and spit out some names.

It definitely seems like a lot of under 35 years old got kicked out even if they were in the company for 5+ years and had stellar EPRs. Some projects are completely halted since 80% of key players got laid off.

Makes you wonder how f*cked is Gulfstream ?!

If that is indeed true, the problem is you lose some of your most experienced people and those are the people that prevent and solve the big problems. Furthermore, bias is inherently built into selection process you describe. Performance reviews are highly subjective and leadership must have supplied rankings to their employees before the layoff and that method is fundamentally biased. I’m not saying that’s wrong, just don’t suggest a computer program spit out the hit list all on it’s own. Look, I realize the lower level managers feel like c-ap right now. They had to lay off some of their best people who they relied upon and built friendships with. Additionally, if they survive themselves they’re responsible for mopping up the mess, probably without any schedule relief. If they succeed, perhaps they survive the wonderful before Christmas layoffs Gulfstream is famous for.

I agree but is this making it easier for GD to sell Gulfstream due to world economy impact let think about this aircraft sales are down and no one is going to show a purchase of a G what ever on the book. So GD is factoring this as an opportunity to sell. Before stocks hit a low. Plus really bad management.
